hello all, i live in NC and have two friends that i think the world of and have helped me get through some rough patches in my life. these two guys and myself included love to shoot. we have always talked to about going out west and shooting pd's. now the time has come for me to repay my debt, im going to take them on a hunt. ive been reading about South Dakota, but no location is set in stone just trying to keep the drive short as possible. ive read that private land is the way to go, but a guided hunt is not out of the question. if u guys can give me any input i would very greatful.

My advise is to join the Varmint Hunter's Assoc....(VHA) located in SD...these guys put out a great magazine which offers all the info a person needs to know....along with an annual Jamboree in July....they have info on guides...motels...locations...rifles/scopes/optics....its $30 a year for membership along with four VHA issues...call 800 528 4868...or go online..don't plan much before late May...some States have closed seasons on public land April 1-June 15...
