I just returned to Montana from a short trip to the west coast.
I travelled on I-90 through eastern Washington on 12/31/2,012.
At 2:00 PM in the afternoon I was passing through the Sprague Lake area and I began seeing Coyotes - LOTS of Coyotes!
There was about 4 inches of newish snow on the ground and the Coyotes were out in abundance feeding and Hunting adjacent to the interstate.
I saw 10 (ten) Coyotes in a somewhat short distance (21 miles).
The first Coyote I saw was near milepost 255 and the last was near mile post 234.
Eight of the ten Coyotes I saw were on the north side of I-90 and two were actually on the ice on the far eastern edge of Sprague Lake which is on the south side of I-90.
This area NEEDS some attention from an industrious predator Hunter!
I will list the nearest mileposts where I noted the Coyotes in case anyone can make it to that area and take advantage of these daylight feeding Yotes.

#250 (two Coyotes)
#247
#238 (two Coyotes south side on ice)

The next Coyote I saw that afternoon was near Ellensburg and it was in amongst some farm houses and buildings.
I hope someone can get out and get after these Coyotes.

You're not supposed to tell!

Lots of private land around there I think.

Okanagan: I see.
Seems the first 49 years of my life I lived in Washington state and every time I went over the crest of the Cascades to get into the open country to call/waylay some Coyotes the private land owners loved to have their Coyotes thinned out.
Anyway if you are nearby I hope you can find a place to bonk a few of these.
I got an off line PM from a fellow who was down south of Sprague about 60 miles Hunting Coyotes the same weekend and he saw a "lot" of Coyotes and was poking holes in them with his new AR type Rifle.
