Can't say what will be taking place in mid May, but I'm a little apprehensive. Especially when it comes to lodging. South Dakota and NE or SE Colorado. We hear very little about these areas here in Northeast Wisconsin. Dismal projections coming our in the news media are not particularly encouraging.

Have to wait till the other shoe drops, I guess.

I'm not going on any trips until things settle down. One of my wife's friends went to visit her daughter and grand daughter for a couple of days and one of the grand daughters friends tested positive... now Tammy is quarantined with them and unable to go home for 14 days. It would suk to be stuck in a motel for 14 days. All it would take would be around the wrong person at a gas station or restaurant.
My main concern is availability of lodging. If I have to eat Baloney sandwiches and Microwave oatmeal for a couple days it's worth it.

It messed up mine - my shooting buddy is in KC but works as a hospital and is high risk - so... boom, he’s out.

The place I shoot requrires 2 guns a day to book - so I’m toast...

I need to find more guys in KC who like shooting Pdogs.
Halfmile: My first Prairie Dog Hunt of this year is "on hold" (at best!) as travel of my friend to here from out of state (his state) is apparently "verbotten".
Maybe "that" is for the best - there is always next year.
Good luck to you - is "travel" restricted in Kansas?

It's May. Ask permission to take a tent and continue to social distance. Leave the land better then you found it.
It' called camping.
Just an alternative suggestion.
Mine is "temporarily" on hold. Was scheduled for Montana for the first week in June. The MT Governor has a current 14 day quarantine in place that "may" be extended. But............we'll try to make it happen. If not, more PD's next year. grin
Hoping my trip in early June is still good. Will talk to the land owner in early May. I made hotel reservations back last October so we'll see how that goes.
I have a two day shoot planned in eastern Wy May 20. Talked to the outfitter yesterday. He said it’s still on.we will see what happens in the next six weeks.
Either sleep in your truck or tent camp.
You could rent a motorhome. Indian casinos
are reasonable.
Don't get closer than 6ft to PDs.
And tell the guide no lookin' over your shoulder...
Montana just close spring bear and turkey to nonresidents.
Prairie dogs are laughing their little asses off. laugh Us humans get pissed when we show up to see our favorite pd town plagued out. Now it's the humans dealing with the plague and the dogs get a pass for this year. sick
Yeah, I’m mid June in SD, still on for now. It’s a low key trip, no guide. If need be I can go later. I don’t plan on buying a license until last minute.
I'm in Wisconsin, locked down till April 24, no indications if it will be extended. I'm going to make a few phone calls to locals in 2 areas and test the wind.

We shot pdogs for about six hours last Saturday. Wind was a problem, we parked the truck to shelter the shooting bench but it was not long until the .243 win and 26-06 came out to help buck the wind. Pups were out and ran into one nest of burrowing owls.
I was in CO the other day, near Denver. I saw a handful of adult prairie dogs, no pups visible. I see now the one Res in SD has the tribe setting up a checkpoint on the highway. It doesn’t seem like an area I’d be in, but still a concern. They may just want to give the ‘right leaning’ Gov some grief, carry some water for the lefties.

Anyway, still have plans to go, not for a month or so yet. Hopefully this settles out before long.
All South Dakota Res are off the list this year....was out there last month.
No travel across the Res if ya don't live there. We shot on private ranch land, no problems.

Been to Wyo twice this year so far, would like to make a last day or two run before the snow start flying.
Stayed a the Best Western in Laramie, everything was normal, except no continental breakfast.

.
Went to eastern Wy mid May, good shoot, zero Covid issues.
