All of a sudden "Vortex" is an optics topic.

I found this on the net:

"At the moment there are four distinct riflescope product lines marketed by Vortex: least expensive are Chinese-made Crossfire scopes
next (significant) step up are Phillipine-made Diamondback riflescopes
Viper scopes are another step-up in quality (also Phillipine-made)
at the top of the line-up are the (absolutely world-class) Razor HD riflescopes that are manufactured in Japan.
"

Good grief. I mean I have Leupold, Zeiss, Lyman, Unertl, Hensoldt and now I have to have Vortex?? smirk
You forget Kollmorgen, Stith, Bausch & Lomb (USA), Fecker, Schmidt and Bender,
Leica, Weaver, Leatherwood, Bushnell and many more.

My current "best buy" winner is the Simmons 8 pointer. Cheap, as good as a Leupold Rifleman optics wise, shoots the square well, has click adjustments, euro focus down to 20 yards.

Been pounding a 2-7 on my beautiful savage 9.3x62 Euro and it jusy keeps ticking !

I've played with the Vortex Razor for a few months.

It'll run with any of the ones you listed.

I still wish I hadn't got rid of my Henny...or my original Unertl 10X Sniper.. but hey we live and learn.

Best bag for the buck is NF.. hands down.

Much to be said about someone who spends money on a rifle then tries to save money on glass.
Much can also be said of one who draws a universal conclusion from one example.

Hint: the stock was factory dipped (Real Tree Blaze), the metal came black parked, scope mounts and bases matte. This was my first try at "paint and dip" (TruTree Blaze), so it made sense to use a budget scope. Past experience with Simmons (a Bushnell company) showed that they were a good value.

How many of the following do you own:
S&B, Kahles, Zeiss, Unertl, B&L (USA), Leupold, Redfield, Kollmorgen, Stith, Lyman, Weaver (El Paso), Trijicon ?
me ? 2,1,2,7,4,17,1,2,1,4,6,2

Nuff sed.
Dam interthem you have an impressive scope collection !
Really.. you wanna go down this road...?

Simmons sucks
Leopold Sucks for the money spent. Older MK IV's are good. Customer service is exceptional.

Where can you find a Kahles now?

S&B (owned 5) 5-25(1), 3-12 (3) 4-16(1)
Zeiss Have (1) now. Owned 3 2 Conquests and 1 Henny
Ever own a henny?
Unertl (1) well just sold it..
Leopold I've had dozens over the years.. finally saw the light.
Redfield 1 but its on my '06 back east.
wouldn't own any of the others.

My conclusion is not only mine but a consensus of many so I bought one and tried it for myself. They are good scopes.

How many NF's you own?

Premier is worth a mention as well.. Exceptional glass...

got any of them?

BTW .. you never came back to the post where you tried to call me out on my extensive riding experience in the hills of wyo.

You go cowboy..I've got years of wyo experience on you.
i just bought a Razor and i love it!! Its as nice if not nicer than any NF. Its FFP, zero stop, awesome glass, and it looks a lot cooler too! not that it matters but its a plus!
I haven't personally used a Vortex, but I have heard some pretty amazing stories about their customer service.
