Greetings, I was interested in opinions for a scope for the ruger 10/22. This will mainly be used for squirrel hunting and such.

I have a Tasco pronghorn 4X job. All I have is the regular model 10/22, so I don't see the point of putting a high dollar rig on it. I suppose any fixed 4X would work, but I don't really like the little tube scopes.
My rifle won't drive tacks anyway, so I think my pronghorn is good enough.

Lets try this again! (for the third time...)
I would suggest a Simmons 4x plex scope. I find they are cheap, good quality for intended use.
I have 3 on my 22's I use for hunting squirrels. I would further suggest the wide angle view.
And only one is scoped at the moment. It is wearing a Burris 4x Compact. It's an awesome scope for quality and clarity. Plus it's sized just right for the 10/22. Not to mention it looks purty mounted on a blued 10/22 with a black Ramline synthetic stock! [Linked Image]

Personally I'm fond of the Simmons 22 mag scopes. I have one in 4x and one in 3-9x ... both are dandy for .22's

I have a Tasco 4x32 on mine with Holdon Ironsighter rings. It has been a great system. Very accurate and it holds it's zero. I've had it like this for seventeen years and have had no problems with it whatsoever.

Just like avagrado I have a fixed 4 power simmons .22 Mag scope and love it. Just last week went out to burn some ammo and was hitting a golf ball 9 out 10 at about 70 yards.

I have a Bushnell sportview on one, a Bushnell Banner on another and a Brunton on a third one--all 4 power. (4x32 I believe) None have ever given me a lick of trouble. Steve
