Weatherman says thunderstorms this afternoon, evening. Thought maybe they would move before a storm. Arrived at 7AM, picked a spot and sat down against a tree. Not a breath of wind. Nothing moved, not even a bird, until around 9AM. Saw four but only got shots at two. Thought I had both could only find one. Much disappointed as this was in a pecan orchard and I've seen more that 60 there at times in the past. Gave up at 10AM after not seeing any for 30 minutes.
I am itching to get back in the woods chasing them. One of my favorite things to hunt! I am down in southeast in Louisiana in the swamps. Lots of Oak tress that are putting out big time this year, its almost not even fair.
I live in WV went out this morning I finally got one with my Ruger MK iii. I've missed about a dozen so far. Lots of opportunity and lots of leaves. But I love the challenge. Bumper crop of nuts here too, leaves will be down soon, hope my accuracy will improve.

That big moon can have them feeding at night and make them sleep in.
