I picked up a T/C Renagade thats currently .54 cal. The bore is pretty much shot due to severe pitting. Anyone here know if a .50 cal barrel would be a drop in replacement? Also, I'd like to strip and refinish the stock with a much duller finish, sort of like a Lyman GP HNTr type finish, any suggestions?

For Barrels look at green mountain barrels.

TC used to sell replacement barrels through Fox ridge outfitters. You might give TC a call and see what they can do for you.

Call T.C. they have a lifetime warranty.

Dittos on Green Mountain. I put a 50 cal fast twist on my Renegade and it shoots great. If the barrel was not cared for properly, I don't think it is T/Cs problem even if they would cover it. Use Birchwood Casey Tru Oil to refinish stock with. After 8 to 10 very thin handrubbed coats, use their Stock Sheen to take the shine down to where you like.

All Renegades have 1" flats.

The Hawkens,.50 and .45 have 15/15" flats while the .54 has 1" flats.

I only shot it a few times and cleaned it up like new no rust at all and is very accurate. it is complete with sights, ramrod, etc and has the easy load muzzle made by T/C it is not modified at all.it is 1 inch and uses one wedge for installing. if you are not satisfied you may raturn it in the same condition as you received it and I will return your money less shipping.

Hubert,
Do you have a barrel that is percussion with a roundball slow twist available?

Well I picked up something interesting today, and no one seems to know anything about it. Looks like a renegade, but barrel says hawkens. Very nice shape, the seller said it was old, but shot really well. He bought an in-line, and decied to sell this gun. I can not find a serial number on this gun,(and no, no place where one was ground off either) it has the Hawken stamp, but does not look like the one on my other guns. It has the T/C mark on the butplate, which is metal. and the trigger guard and ram rod holders are blue also. It is 54 cal, and I bought it for resale. But really don't know what I have. Maybe a ReneHawk. I paid $200 for it, and wanted to make $50 on it, but would Take $225 for all if buyer pays shipping.
