My cousin sent a pic of an old rusted up revolving barrel muzzle loader. I remember reading about them years ago. Maybe an under hammer. I can't find anything about one on Google. I think that they were percussion with a nipple on each barrel, but only one hammer/trigger. Please help. Thanks.
Sounds like he's talking about one of these.

Might have some collectable value, wouldn't hurt to put a dab of oil on it.

Thanks for the site and the words swivel breech. I got some hits off of it. I sort of remembered a Hopkins and Allen, maybe an under hammer. Life is good.
Was out in Cody a few weeks back and at the Cody Museum there was a four barrel flint swivel breech gun. Odd looking thing.....kind of like a phone pole with a bunch of woodpeckers on it.
I have a 54 caliber double barreled muzzleloading rifle. It is a sidelock and has two barrels, one under the other. However, it only has one trigger and one hammer. You fire once, then cock the sidelock hammer, swivel the bottom barrel to the top and fire again. It is made by Pedersoli. I guess they don't make them anymore because I can't find them on their website.

I have only fired it once and just have it in my safe since it is not Colorado legal. Might sell or tade it if you are interested.

I can't even find a picture of these rifles. I think it was bought from Cabelas in the late 80's
Actually, here is some pictures of the kind of rifle I have:

However, my rifle is basically in pristine condition.
There is another one on Gunbroker, seller is "KCBorn"...
Interesting looking although not really good pictures
that one on gun broker is a pedersoli. Cva also made one but if i recall right , with theirs you had a choice of a 45 or a 50 barrel set . the pedersoli came in 50 and 54 .
i have worked on a number of them as others here have said , its a swivel breech .

An Over and Under has 2 locks and normaly the left hand lock has a very long neck .
the can be two smooth bores , , two rifle bores or a combination , one rifle one smooth
both systems are early designs and can be found in flintlock as well as cap lock
i think david peice makes customs of the swivel breech , both in flint and cap .

this one was sold at auction for over 7000, in 2007
