I saw saddlesore's elk and thought I'd add my own pic. I was also using a 348 PB with 80 grains of BH209. She was below me so the shot was on a downward angle and the wound on her lower shoulder is an exit. My partner also killed one opening morning with the same bullet, his penetrated the scapula, proving once again that PBs are no good on elk:

I broke down and bought a new ML this year so I could use the 209.

Nosler BT 300 grn. I like the results they break bone at 💯yards really well. We have one more tag and I can't see it going past the AM. We have been in elk all day everyday. I lost my patience and shot a little one. It will eat very well
