Have a TC Strike that is driving me crazy. Vertical string at 100 yards is in the 6 to 8 inch range. Windage is fine at about 2.5 inches.

Have tried Blackburn 209 and triple 7. Bullets have been Hornady SST 250, Powerbelt 245 hp, Powerbelt 300, Hornady 240 handgun bullets in green sabots, 300 gr Sierra in green sabots. Charges have been 80 to 100 grains by volume. All have the same issue.

Bases and rings are fine. Have had 3 scopes on it. One is a proven reliable optic. I have no issue shooting decent groups with any other rifle including my friends MZ.

Speaking of said friend he can buy a muzzleloader in a bubble wrap package and shoot anything out of it and get 3 inch or less groups at 100 yards.

Talking with TC has been useless. They state I have not found the right combination yet.

Try shooting it without the forearm and rest it on the action. Your problem has to be some kind of interference from the forearm. If accuracy improves, and I bet it will, bed the forearm and float the barrel.

Haven't fooled with mine much, just sighted it in and gone hunting. Didn't see any stringing though.

I'd look at the forend screw tightness as a start.

Only paid $270 for mine, so not worried much anyway. Shots tend to be short here.

If I had it to do over, I'd get an Impact, which is a lot lighter.

Try cutting back on the charge.

How much lower would you suggest?

I fee your pain. I have an Encore and an Impact and they are both finicky and could not get them to to group till I got so fussy about how much powder and how hard I packed it down. The kind of powered made no difference. I took out the plug and cleaned the barrel every single shot and those three things really helped. If I didn't do that I would get stringing up and down but never sideways. They drove me crazy till I bought a TC Hawken. The only time I had a problem with that gun is shooting conicals and when I took it from the cool basement to the hot humid outdoors . It seems to collect moisture with the temperature change and gunned the barrel. I went even further and bought a Green Mountain 50 cal. in 1/66" twist cause I shoot round balls. Very dependable gun but if I dont clean that barrel ever three shots, the fourth will go wacky.
