I have 2muzzleloaders I hunt with, an Encore and an LHR Redemption. I just started having accuracy issues with both, using a couple of known scopes and a couple different bullets. I’m wondering if these sabots looks right?

I tried to make the pics bigger but failed miserably

BH209 - 75grs weight
Harvest Crush Rib sabot
Scorpion PT Gold 300gr

Thanks

Hey I don’t know, but if accuracy goes down the tubes it might be plastic building up in the groves. I use a shotgun cleaner solvent that removes the plastic. Sorry but I don’t recall the name and I am not home now, so i can’t tell you the name. I also occasionally run a patch or two with flitz again to remove buildup in the groves.

yes they look fine. A good deep scrubbing with some plastic remover will do the job. Some use boiling hot water to melt the plastic out.

Thanks guys, I never even thought about plastic buildup.

Brake cleaner works very well for removing plastic build up. I use it in my shotgun barrels.

I don’t have any plastic demelterizer so I used brake cleaner on a bronze brush. It was pretty amazing what came out after a couple of passes. I’m actually surprised the Encore stayed on paper.
