Friend died after a fall hunting Tahr in NZ just over five years ago. His son found him. He also stayed out overnight as the rescue chopper was searching for a lost hiker, who was never found. Another chopper took his son out and they came back next morning.

As a semi-old guy who has thought a whole bunch about how we live, what mark we might make on others and also how we die, it occurs to me that if a good friend remembers the day I've past - a decade forward - well then I've done alright.

I'd also say your friend picked some very fine company sir.
