Lets have a thread on gun powder trade probably driving distance from Anchorage bowl area. What are you looking for?

What can I get for snow? White or yellow, your choice? smile

The only powder I know that I need a couple pounds of is IMR 7977. I might want some more Accurate MagPro, depending on some testing that I need to conduct, but that appears to be becoming more available. I saw it for sale at Bass Pro Shop the other day, and bought a pound........but, admittedly, it's probably all gone already.

I have some powders that I can part with, though:
SR 4759
Hodgdon Pyrodex
Hercules 2400
Hercules Bullseye
Hercules Herco
Hodgdon LeverEvolution

I'm also looking for:
CCI 200 Large Rifle primers, 1 brick
Swift A-Frame 338 bullets, 225 grain, qty 250
450 Marlin brass, 200 ea
338 WinMag brass, 200 ea

Are you guys still having a tough time finding powder up there?
Posted By: Huntster Re: Alaska powder trade idea - 03/14/24
It's getting a tad better, but it still sucks. Some components are worse than others, and some are unavailable nationwide. Currently, the strangest items that can't b3 found are new 300 WinMag and 338 WinMag brass, and 338 Swift A-Frame bullets (225 grain) which are apparently plentiful to British hunters, but not here. The shipping-to-Alaska hazmat BS can be thwarted with a $24 forwarding fee per shipment.
Can we include Fairbanks? I'm looking for Remington 9and 1/2 primers.

Sportsman's H-House in Soldotna has IMR 4350 now @ $44.95 per pound...
Just when you thought the price of powder could go no higher,it went way higher.I saw a pound of H4350 yesterday priced at $74.99 here in Texas and that was at a store that usually has reasonable prices. It's very likely to go even much higher in Alaska.Good Luck guys.

KK,
I have quite an assortment of powders that I don't see a future need for and I'll be down your way in a month or six weeks. Let me know if I can help.

I have little that I don't have a use for here in Fairbanks. Not much:

Have 1 pound of H335, H4350 and H110.
Could use some IMR4064, RL22 or IMR4831.

Three Bears in Kenai is well stocked. I bought a pound of Magnum for around $50 about a month or so ago.

As we get toward spring and I dig out all of my components, I'll post here. I know there's several pounds of H4831 and smaller quantities of several others. If the Fire Department knew what I have, they'd blacklist me.
