The wife is headed down for some training/work... and plans to spend a couple extra days power/viewing/shopping in the big city , we are getting close to getting the house finished( painting stage) . We got Ashley up here...no way !...and salders, looking for decent stuff that lasts ...as we don't plan to ever buy this stuff again. Champagne taste on a beer budget !. This house building stuff has me never wanting to do this again.
Costco...

Order on the internet direct from the manufacturers if you get picky...
I hate shopping for furniture. I have spent some time in various furniture stores in Anchorage and have consistently been unimpressed with the experience.

Root canals for me .. I looked some on line to buy drict ..but not coming up with much ..must not be wording it right.
ime, it's damn near impossible to buy good furniture. We've spent a fair amount of coin on furnishings over the years, always disappointed. Stuff is built cheap.

I'd go antiques if I wanted it to last.
Root canal for me as well.

Ikea would make a killing in this town.

What I did some years back was find the sofa and a couple love seats and ottomans and went to their contact numbers and bought direct from them. I had a ton of colors to choose from and it came pretty fast and cheap... less than half the price in local stores. BUT they screwed up the color of the leather and were very reasonable in the dealings... they offered to find someone to color it here and then offered us that cost instead... They are still here in the original color...
Wife's back ...Ashley... Junk....salders... Better....treeform.... Lots Better for only a few more bones than the other's....
What about Baileys furniture? They seem to have pretty good furniture. Depends on what you are looking for I guess, and how much you spend. You can't buy the cheapest piece and expect quality. And they have a good variety.

Penny's used to carry a good selection. On a recliner I'd buy Lazy Boy.
