Took the boys for a cruise up 20mile today and came across a damn gray whale about a mile upriver. I’ve seen belugas even farther up, but this was a first for me!

Anchorage Pravda has an article on the whale possibly being stranded up the river.

IIRC, if it does get back down to Turnagain Arm, it still needs a very favorable tide to get back into
Cook Inlet proper. You guys may have a hell of a bear bait!

No doubt! When I was trying to pull my boat I had to get a bit testy with a couple of dipnetters that didn’t want to lose their prime parking spot. Thankfully they were at their vehicles when I pulled up.
