Guys, I have a stock I want to get painted black. The paint appears like an egg shell or small rain drops randomly scattered about. What kind of paint is it and who does it? powdr

Give John Boy a shout. Does a great job painting stocks and is very reasonable.

Yes, he's done one for me but this is a different deal altogether. powdr

Tstorm1 painted my Ti stock a month or so ago, beautiful job, fast turnaround, great communications and very reasonable. I’m a happy camper.
Posted a pic in the Image Gallery back on May 11.

Thanks Pocono! Hard to tell what paint it is without handling it. Remington did one of their factory rifles that had small droplets like that. The process is easy to do and I've done it for a member using Duracoat. Spray a base coat then turn the pressure way down, open the needle way up and a quick pull of the trigger. Kind of like sneezing color droplets onto a stock. I've got a couple image galleries here of work I've done, search my username and they should come up. If I can help drop me a PM.

You are not referring to "Hammertone" paint, are you?

Now I get what your talking about with the eggshell look. Browning has Duratouch and I believe Bell and Carlson have Maxxguard (not sure if that is exactly what they call it). Would probably need to send it to a stock maker to have it done.
