Thinking about picking up a couple vintage Custom Shop Rifles that was made back in the late 70s or early 80s. Fancy wood, hand checkering, etc. like new condition.

Just wondering if the problems that Remington encountered with the triggers, and the financial problems that they encounter has hurt the value of these once prized rifles.

Your thoughts?

Buy them if they are reasonable, trigger can be replaced, they are increasing in value.

What do you consider reasonable? 50% of retail?

This and then some still have all my walker triggers but they get maintained. Last 700 C I handled they wanted $ 700 for and thinking back on it I missed a bargain. Mb
I’ve bought several used 700 C’s over the last ten years or so from about $1000-2000. I think anything less than $1500 is a pretty good buy depending on condition of course. Triggers are not a problem for me. I had one that was a little “creepy” but taking the action out of the stock and giving it a few blasts with something like carb cleaner took care of that.
They are all tack drivers including a 35 Whelen, a couple of 7 Mags, a 547 22 LR, 25/06, 222 Rem Mannlicher stock mod 7, a 350 Mag, etc.
I have a C Grade 30/06 from the mid 70s. Beautiful wood and bluing. Excellent accuracy. Never had trouble with that or my other M700 triggers. Last year just for security sake I took the C Grade to my 'smith to check on on the trigger. He said there was nothing wrong with it and adjusted it to a crisp 3.25 lbs. Nice rifles.....go grab some.
Uh, just where might one find these rifles? Asking for a friend. whistle
Gunsinternational, GunBroker, etc. Might be able to order one from Dakota Arms. They actually were building the Remington Custom Shop rifles for several years now.
I think I found all but one of mine on Gunbroker. The other on Guns Int’l.

This^^^
I have a Remington Custom KS Mountain rifle in .280 Rem that came from the custom shop. It's sub MOA accurate and has been a great rifle. The trigger is about 3 lbs and has never given me any problems.

Been gradually replacing mine with TT specials. But the triggers weren’t horrible to start with on the KS.
the Remington Custom Shop will be up and running in the near future as soon as their FFL is approved in Sturgis SD but do not know about Dakota Arms

Do you know what name it is going to go by?
