Any rumors or scuttlebutt? Thanks, powdr
How does the 22 Creedmoor compare to a 22-250. It’s probably a dumb question, I apologize in advance, haven’t read much about the 22 Creed.
I don`t need a 22 Creedmire...I got a 6 ARC.

Think 22-250 AI with a 7 - 8 twist

Exactly.
As I have pointed out here and there, the 6.5 Creedmoor is almost identical to the old 6.5/.250 RCBS Improved, which had a 28-degree shoulder.
I remember you contemplating the 6.5-250 when trying to develop your own wildcat and discovering it to already be a thing. This was (I believe) a tongue and cheek lead in to the 9.3-350, but well before the introduction of the creedmore version.

That one looks good, but I have a 6CM, a .243, and a 6.5 Grendel, so it would be an excess. If it’d pre-dated the Grendel, I’d probably have gotten one. Those mild rounds are very pleasant, useful, and economical.
I would think that one could screw a fast twist barrel into a 22/250 or 220 swift and get quite similar results. Except it wouldn’t have the creedmore sexy name.
with a little respect = i have a 22 BR with a fast twist barrel and i think a 22 Creedmoor would not complete off the bench with the BR cartridge , i see no difference between a 22-250 vs. 22 Creedmoor except as been posted the name Creedmoor . if i go hunting i want the old 220 Swift its faster and accurate enough. i like the Creedmoor cartridges but for the money a 22-250 is the cheaper easier cartridge to use and find also. if you can afford any of them and you want true accuracy in a 22 caliber tuff to beat a 22 BR with Lapua brass. good luck with your decision, Pete53
Yes, I agree, same with me, a lot of overlap. Had two .223`s. Wanted to play with something different, but to be honest, in .22, the .223 did what I wanted it to do. Mines a Savage with a 9 twist, and have had very good results with bullets up to 80 grns. I know with bullets of that weight, it`s not a speed demon, but it gets the job done with minimal fuss, pleasant, useful, and cheap to shoot.

JB,
What, if any, advantage does a 22 Creedmoor have over the 22-250 AI assuming the same twist rate?
I ask because I have a 220 Swift (Rem 700 VSSF) that needs a new barrel and have been considering the 22-250 AI with a 7-8" twist. Seems that brass would be less of an issue with the 22-250, though in this current situation finding any brass for just about anything can be somewhat problematic.

Pete53: I second your contentions on the 22 Remington Bench Rest.
I have a pair of them (factory stock Remington 40X models) and they are impressively accurate.
They really shine in a Prairie Dog Town or a Rock Chuck Colony!
Thankfully I have a good supply of brass for my guns.
I use LaPua brass in my Remington 40XB-BR and Remington brass in my Remington 40XBBR-KS.
They both really perform for me.

The 22 CM would be nice for those that don't reload, but if you do a 22-250 improved it would be better because you can still use 22-250 ammo and then your case would have become improved for reloading
this is kinda off subject 1st my 22 BR is a Cooper single shot varmint shoots great. here`s the off subject as a FFL dealer sometimes you can get a good deal on a close out rifle so i purchased this single shot Savage blued varmint rifle 204 Ruger cartridge very cheap like $ 219.00 shoots like wild fire , man its accurate so when barrel does burn out i plan on putting a Brux barrel 7 twist varmint barrel chambered in a 22 BR. ,but for this summer 2022 this old crow bar might be ugly will be smoke`n in a dog town !

Given the same barrel, same bullet, same varmint - it's a wash. The AI is a No Big Deal thing,
I'm going with the CM because I have damn near a 5 gallon bucket of 6.5 CM brass.

Pretty sure you could shoot 22-250 ammo in the .22 Creedmoor too.

The 22-250 is a little too short
Got an email from bulletcentral.com today. They have Alpha .22 Creed brass.

I've formed creedmoor cases from 22-250 cases. It works fine
