I bought a stock unseen. Supposed to be a 700BDL stock.
But it is inletted different than the BDL stocks I have, plus the black tip is cut at a diagonal instead of square. Recoil pad is a Pachmayr. Probably after market.
Swivel studs are a lot smaller than others. Stock is very light compared to other BDL stocks I have. I'm thinking it's off a Winchester.
Any ideas?

I can’t see your pics but I can’t remember any Remington stocks with an angled fore end tip.

It's a strange piece to me.
The pocket for the trigger assy. is cut in at an angle, forward, instead of straight down. The barrel channel also has a peaked ridge running from the mag well to the front swivel stud, tapering from back to front. Also, the pocket for the lug is cut as wide as the inside of the stock. The opening at the bolt same as a l/a. A lot of stocks laying around here, nothing looks like it.
I'll put it on the: Unkown" pile. Might be foreign job.

I think I've solved part of the stock question. Looks like off a Winchester Mod 70 XTR. Definitely a small caliber.
Saw an image of one on a 243.on Gobles website.

Real easy way to tell Remington from Winchester … is it rounded or flat behind the recoil lug well? Flat will be for a Winchester.
Pics would help - try postimage.
