I want to pick up a used Model 70 in 7mmWSM Black Shadow. I want to drop it in a Featherweight stock. 1) will it fit? 2) will I only need to order bottom metal parts? and 3) is this post below from 2010 correct?

1. You'll need a short action stock.
2. You'll need the proper 3-screw bottom metal inletting, or the adapter that allows for 3-screw bottom metal to be used in a 2-screw insetted stock.
3. If you have/buy a WSM, you'll need a sporter taper barrel channel, NOT a featherweight barrel channel. You can still get the featherweight stock pattern, just not the featherweight barrel channel or you'll need to open up the barrel channel to accept the WSM's sporter weight barrel.
Yes you can put it in a featherweight stock. I got the stock from cdnnsports and the one-piece bottom metal from stockysstocks. I did have to open up the barrel channel for my 7wsm.
