Need a wee bit of help. Have got just bought a kimber 84m and a 84L. Am putting a vx3 2-7x36 on the 84m and a vx3 3.5-10x40 on the 84L. Would like to put the talley light wieghts on them but need some help with which hieght to choose, want them as low as possible? Anyone out there know which ones work best.

Cheers man, but I live in Australia.

In my experience, the people at Midway can be hit or miss in what they know. If it were me, I'd email Talley and ask them. They will have the schoolbook answer and can send you your rings direct.

Good Luck!

On the 84's stay with the Talley Lightweight LOW... perfect for the rifle and will handle the 40 mm objective of the 3.5-10x40 while allowing bolt handle clearance of the ocular. You don't need Mediums if that's what you're wondering.

Here's what lightweight lows look like on a 84M Bob with a VXII 2-7x33:

PS mtn-hunter:

I've got a 6X42 in low mounts on a Kimber Montana and still have adequate space between objective and barrel.

Eyepiece diameter matters. Ziess Conquest 3-9X40 and Talley Lows allows bolt on my Montana to lightly rub eyepiece bell. Front is fine.
How big is eye end of Leupold 3.5-10X40?

The Leupold VXII and VXIII ocular will clear with the Low... beyond that, I don't know.

Yes the LW lows are fine. I would get the "extended" model as it will give yo more front to back room to slide the scope body.
Also, is your 84L a RMEF model? Didn't know any standard wood models made it out yet.
Good luck and keep us posted on the 84L at the range.
