Went to the range today to try some loads with a variety of primers (BR2s, Fed 215s and 210s). Had two misfires in a row with the Fed 210s. Needless to say I stopped shooting those. FWIW, it was 52gr of 2000MR in my 338 Fed. Firing pin definitely did its job, just no boom. First one of that particular load shot fine, next two misfired. The ten 210s I fired with other loads worked as advertised. Was a brand new (to me anyway) box of 210s. Not exactly confidence inspiring. First time that's ever happened to me. I have an RCBS bullet puller, never used it before, guess I need to figure it out.

Edit: Disregard all. Nominating myself as dumbass of the year...Let's just say there was slightly less than 52gr of 2000MR in there.

LOL ... that nearly made me drop my evening beverage! As they say, yer not the first or the worst, just the latest.

>laughgin'<

In all the loads over all the years, I've only had that happen once.
The primer had enough force to lodge the bullet of a powderless .204 Ruger cartridge in the barrel though.

While it is funny - it could be catastrophe, if you lit-off another round with a plugged bore.

There was no sound (that I could hear through double hearing protection) and the bullet didn't budge. Guess my confidence in 210s is restored. My reloading on the other hand... eek

Tip, don't reload at 1am after along week and jet lag from 14+hr flight.
