Now that was funny, I thought while I was watching that Big Stick was talking to nsaqam......no no he is talking to JeffO but then they determined he was from Florida, cant quite figure out who it is.
I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul. too true...I have seen with my own eyes many with their shiny new black rifles that shoot 4 inch groups at at 25 yards from a rest at an indoor range. Want to bet the same fellows could build a fire, hike a mile, or put up a tent etc.
Surprised no one has asked the question yet, but which one is Big Stick? One is a little too stupid, the other far too kind and magnanimous, not to mention practical...
I guess Big Stick cant handle the heat.....been on the site most of the day responding to anything but his acting debut
Never was much of a cartoon guy, save perhaps Foghorn Leghorn.
I've long had the luxury of doing things well beyond your abilities or comprehension...but do get a kick outta Window Lickers and their mundane pursuits. Appreciate your extolling them "trevails".
Not all that familiar with the timber in that neck of the woods but those are sizable. What type of wood are they gettin' out of those. Construction lumber, furniture, what. I cut my fair share of hardwood veneer in my day in Michigan and had some go for $65 a foot. Obviously not quite that big though. Interesting vids though. Good to see someone WORKING and dropping trees instead of mechanized tree mowing.

I've killed $100,000 trees.
Old Growth Fir,Sitka Spruce,Yellow Cedar and Red Cedar were the mainstays of my career.
Damn Stick. Around here we say the bullshit stops when the tailgate drops.
The barrel break-in had me rolling. Still waitin for pics of your guns all cuddled up on a loveseat.
Sister looks like 65 pounds of hell to pay.
I usually pinch the bar on my 16" Husky when I cut 15" trees for firewood. Worked for a timber company for a while cruising. Have nothing but respect for men running a saw.
Absolutely does. And if done correctly it will pay out for many generations. Something that the granola's just don't get. That's alright though because their foolish ways will only be their demise via an out of control brush fire.

You know it's not, but I'm not surprised in the least that you would be attracted to boys. Betting your sons still piss the bed in fear every their bedroom door opens.

Taking a poke at someone's family just shows that YOU are the [bleep] up, not whoever you're trying to insult. You're clearly rate somewhere south of Land Carp. A thorough and complete azz kicking is the best remedy for guys like you. Unfortunately it doesn't happen as often as it should.
Sorry but I saw the bushy eyebrows, square chin and skulls coupled with the pictures in stages of undress Stick posts of himself --- hell one never knows..

99% of the time I would agree with you, but we are dealing with the "Shtick". He believes that he is OMNIPOTENT...... direct the azz kicking to B.S.
It is Big Stick's fault that he put his own sister in this position........she look's like a Saskatchewan but wear's his portrait on her HOODIE. He is a master of directing blame to other's and putting praise upon himself.
That's not his sister and if you think about it - nice, real nice cracking on a little girl, tho the fact she's hunting a bunch more than most probably frosts your balls but hey - don't blame her.

By the way, among her many accomplishments, on her worst day she can out fish, out hunt and out shoot you on your best day. And she's just a kid for God's sake. Pick on somebody else.

I savvy you're being pissed that Sister outdoes you,as it's very familiar territory for you.
My suggestion would be to simply pry your ass from the couch and attempt to do things for yourself. With luck, you'll proffer commentary upon same.

Pics worth a thousand words, and that's a beautiful young lady that any father should be proud of, I certainly would if I had a daughter and she were mine.
Winston, that was completely uncalled for, Bigstick has alot to be proud. That young lady will grow up having alot more character, class, and other things, that many in today's time won't ever understand. AND I'll bet when it's time and if she wants to put on her favorite dress, and fix up like ladies do when it's age appropriate Not out fishing and hunting, she will turn heads as good as the best of them.
You sir are wrong in your view, and for posting and I feel personally you owe Bigstick a sincere apology, if at a minimum in a PM. It's the least you can do. Maybe you had a few too many beers and wanted to take a jab, but that was just plain wrong, and completely untrue!
Ribbin fellow members in jest is one thing, joking or slamming their kids - completely out of place IMHO.
Man up Winston, and do the right thing.
Bigstick - be proud - that's a good looking young lady you have there and anyone that says otherwise - it's blashemy, not that I need to tell you. She will grow up w/many memories knowing her father investing his time/energy into her life and future. Not all fathers take the time to do so with their kids, Kudos.
And, she can swing a club with the best of 'em. Something that would doubtless come in handy, should she ever meet up with a few of our fellow posters? ;O)
I getta kicka outta the Do-Nothin's trying to stir the pot. It'd be akin to saying I Hunt a Salvage '06,with 4895 fueled NBT's,via BSA glass and Millet mounts...comedy pure and simple.
Sister is flailing a Loomis 1024C there, bolted to an ABU Revo STX,stoked with 30lb PP and 20lb Chameleon leaders. Mainly a high volume Meat Fishery, leaving little to "chance".
Baby Boy getting some.
Steelhead Pursuits can be any of the Loomis Float Rod Series or an 1141-S.
STFR1321S,with a Stradic.
I don't let the kids drive stuff,that I wouldn't..............
Even in the rough, she still had time to paint her nails.....great pics Stick. I always remembered the one of her holding a big ass salmon wearing a pink fleece cap. Pretty young lady she is.
pics of Sister and a bear posted several years back helped fire up my daughter bout hunting.....good to see she is still whacking and stacking critters though there wasnt a doubt she would be....
Wouldn't be hard to find out what he runs in camera gear, just ask him. I've asked him about other stuff in the past and he's always shared his info on gear, though sometimes you might need an interpretor to help you figure it out.
His knowledge is commendable, his delivery, condescending remarks, etc are another matter. To say he thinks highly of himself is an understatement, and gets pretty old IMO.
Stick knows his way around a camera, it seems. Would be curious to find out what he 'runs'.
Canon digital SLRs, and some nice (i.e. expensive) Canon lenses, plus a Sigma macro lens or two if I recall correctly.
If you save his photos on your hard disk, and look at the properties, you can examine the EXIF info right down to the camera model, exposure time, f-stop, exposure compensation, lens, phase of the moon, colour of the photographer's underwear...

No doubt. One of those "Universal Translators" off of Star Trek would come in handy, methinks.
To be fair - I'd rather deal with a crusty guy who has the right answers than a sweetheart with the wrong ones.
pretty much what i think.....granted i come from a huge family so dealing with "characters" is a natural state of things and dont phase me much.....least i know Stick is speaking from personal experience and not making chit up....goes a long way towards what im willing to deal with....most the time when i disagree with him it boils down to a difference in philosophy rather than right versus wrong and since im willing to leave it at that its hard for him to rub me the wrong way....

Yep - was in the service and I currently work in the transportation industry - if you can't handle people ruffling your feathers, you can't work there!
I use to think that too but life is just too short to get worked up over it.
Right on. I don't get worked up over it at all. There's just no need for it most of the time. There are many, many posters here with immense knowledge. He certainly doesn't have a lock on it.

no he aint the only one but push comes to shove there aint a need for 90% of chit posted.....the fact that its here is why i love this place.....but i dont take myself seriously and during face to face get togethers with ppl alot of chit gets slung back and forth....cant fathom why the 'net would be any different.....
depends on the company....hell some of the time you would prolly think my brothers and i are ready to kill each other when we are out drinking if yah over heard the conversation and didnt know us....most the guys here i want to meet prolly wouldnt notice much difference in me, could care less id Stick is like this in person, be happy as hell to share a beer with him, my hide is thick and can handle chit being slung just fine....
All I know is what was in the post-----do not know who is in the picture but it needs a couple of paper bags..
Who is it???
Among the oilfield trash , cowboys , and other assorted redneck types I grew up among ,you - Mr Winston - would have been appraised as ;" Not worth killin' ". That term was applied to only those who had forfeited the right to be called a man and there was no lower class .
Even those who dislike Big Stick the most would never apply that term to him .
Have "known" the rascal since 2001, from another now-defunct site. He grates on some, others are grateful for some of his tidbits, some can't stand him.
Lots of folks on this planet, not everyone is gonna like everyone else. Got a suspicion that some wouldn't like him even if he'd co-authored a Dale Carnegie course?
Primarily, because while they're stuck all week behind a desk, or some job they hate, ol' Grumpass is generally muckin' about in the woods or on the water? Just a hunch. ;O)
his delivery, condescending remarks, etc are another matter. To say he thinks highly of himself is an understatement, and gets pretty old IMO.
It seems JGRaider is the only one that get's it, Big Shtick can be vile and belligerent for thousands of posts........then slip in a couple pic's of pure innocent children for misdirection so you think he is warm and cuddly. It amazes me that poeple can be manipulated so easily. If you look at his body of work 80% is vile pompous arrogance, about 10% is true useable knowledge that you can gain something from and 10% is what he is doing on this thread, damage control. I have got to hand it to him though he is good at his craft because obviously some of you buy into it.

nope, just know the world has all kinds.....aint hard to figure out how to get along with most if yah want to.....funny thing is even when he and i didnt agree i never took what he was saying as mean.....
see him giving hell to some, but all it would take to get him to stop is to ignore him....i know he dont take himself to seriously so its kinda funny watching some getting worked up over what he says when im positive he aint getting worked up over what they say....
there are several on this site i really dislike, but ive got no one on ignore.....dont see the point of an ignore button, if i dont want to deal with a person i dont read their posts.....dont need a button to ignore a person.....
The weather warmed up into the 30s today giving me an opportunity to get on the Bobcat and scrap the schit of the cattle loafing shed floor.
BS informed us that he is on vacation for two weeks. This would be a good opportunity to clean up the BS in this thread. Will someone open the gate and let me move the Bobcat into this here barn. I can have it scraped clean in a short.
I got the wood stove door open behind me here, waiting for a couple unsplit tamarack chunks to take flame so I can shut the door & choke down for the night.
Plowed a few miles of access for myself & neighbors out in the country with a 40 year old 3/4 ton pickup with a blade. (snow)
Drank the last 2 beers in the fridge, had a couple egg nog calverts... and a glass of wine. Hoping for a decent nights sleep and a reply along the line here from Stick on saw chain opinion.
g'night all stick haters and followers.. and thick skins like myself that just dont mind either way.

He ain't never gonna be warm and cuddly. He is what he is and I "got over it" years ago.

I've known worse. He ain't botherin' me none, or much.

There was a bunch of us got here by way of the old "shooters" site . I was having conversations with Larry about the 338 RUM when he left there for here so I followed .
I've always thought that "envy" explained why some folks seem compelled to mix it up with him verbally .He ,OTOH, seems to thrive on contention.I never have gotten the impression he thought he knew more about a particular subject than anyone else in the world. But he damn sure claims to know more than whoever is in his sights at the moment .

The way I see it Dave.... Great entertainment value and iffin a feller don't want to get his nuts thumped, he may better remain on the sideline. Never saw Stick feed anyone bad information...recken he just don't tolerate differences of opinion very well He does have a way with words don't he?
G - yes he does, and I think his tone and delivery has improved, and content very much of value.
Sometimes losing the riddle might convey even more value to folks, but he shoots straight - in what he says, and that can't be said for all - whether knowingly done or not.
It's always nice hearing other's experience, sometimes different results, though w/same equipment - as that's how things sometimes work. We all often have a little and sometimes more than so, different opinions, and that is ok. Just how it is, less boring that if everyone were clones.
Where would the entertainment and educational aspect of this forum be w/o sharing varying experiences, gear, and results?

Had my Canon 1D Mark 3/17-40L combo in the pack today and think highly of it,for beating upon in general and fending weather conditions.
Ordered the Siggy 50mm F/1.4 the other day, while setting on the tarmac awaiting a connect home and hope to gun some Chrome with it,these next week(s). Wanted it for bokeh blowout and perspective pokes, via razor thin DOF. I think THE sleeper glass of All Time is the Tammy SP AF28-75mm F/2.8 XR Di Macro...I love that thing. Generally have the Canon 70-200 F/2.8 and 100-400L in the bag too.
Had prolly "too many" bodies for a spell, with a 40D,1Ds,1D MK2n and 1D Mk3 in the bag...but begrudgingly tripped the '2n. So I shoot all 3 Canon DSLR sensor sizes and am a Crop Slut. Will revisit the 1Ds with the 50/1.4 melding,if only in fairness,as ISO latitude was one of it's greatest hurdles.
Will have to sort through here and catch up with the Whining.......................(grin)

Don't change at all, BS. Some of us appreciate hard cold truth and despise fluff. We get plenty of that daily from the puzzies which seem to have us surrounded.

The Bradley initial concept,was/is great, but they were non S/S and puked fairly fast here. The S/S option was a great thing and the digital controller, even more of a great thing.

That is awesome. Man, I envy this kid, does things I only dreamed of at that age. Still, actually! Love the fact that she took the time to paint her nails(2 tone,no less) and then went and got some blood on her pants-sheer awesomeness! One question, what is the purpose of the green tape on the turrets? Never saw that before but figured there must be a good reason. Your pics are always top notch, lets me live vicariously a little bit. Maybe you should start a picture thread so I don't have to sort through people talkin chit to find them,eh?
FWIW,I don't know if the nails are ever the same color twice and she surely do have her own fashion sense. As mentioned prior,I just stay outta the way.
The pink boots is Iconic too................(grin)
It is the best place to keep extry tape handy,as a guy can either: A) unwind it and snip/tear,per whim or B) remove turret and use as a tape roll...both as means of muzzle protection from weather/obstructions.
We get some weather, even on the "good" days.............(grin)
one of my sisters left rural Montana as soon as she could......she just cant fathom why i love it here and thinks we were crazy when we didnt pack up and leave when my wife was offered a big money job on the east coast......Alaska is one of the few places i would leave here for but it aint likely to happen...working for myself now and can easily make time to play and dont have to go far to do so.....

Undoubtedly,because it's well founded.

So do midgets....Congratulations and Merry Christmas.
I do love releasing the big rainbow...and the slung rifle....this little gal knows how to take care of herself
Good for her!
I/we seldom bonk fish in the head...but a Blood Bath is a hoot every now and again and smoking/canning is best done in mass production IMHO.............
The pink boots is Iconic too................(grin)
Best pic I think I've ever seen posted on this sight right here... she even make a pick of you look good man. Ain't too many full grown boys that can brag about a blacktail like that... myself included.
Nice colors/contrast and there's always points awarded for a Pink Rifle...but Pop's takes the cake,if only because it defines sooooooooooo many things.
The GAP camo scheme, fluted Kreiger, leather forearm guard, sun smiling and feel good vibe cain't be topped.

Stick, your "little princess" is a doll. Bringing the boys along are one thing, bringing the little princess along opens up windows in my mind. I got one of each, and they sure do make this daddy a richer man.
We call the folks that think killing and eating critters is a digusting thing to do, "mall man" and "mall girl".
I have always loved a gal that is willing to get blood on her painted nails. Speaks volumes. Carry on. You must be doin something right.
Stick, explain the forearm guard if you will. Merry Christmas.
Pop's was(is) very much hoping to arrow a masher with his Traditional Longbow,POC cedar and Turkey feathers...so was at the ready,on the average. Spied him the above Buck in a locale that precluded a sneak and said "you can smash him with my 22-250AI(1-7.7" Kreiger/75S2's) or watch him walk away".
He couldn't pass the opportunity,though few could...............(grin)
Nice colors/contrast and there's always points awarded for a Pink Rifle...but Pop's takes the cake,if only because it defines sooooooooooo many things.
The GAP camo scheme, fluted Kreiger, leather forearm guard, sun smiling and feel good vibe cain't be topped.
Though I'm still tryin'...............(grin)
What is the rain gear? I like that stuff....
HH ImperTech...prolly THE staple in these parts, until you get to the backdeck and then it's of course Grunden Herkules...............

Fantastic, was it a "near or far combo" hunt? I see the forearm guard?
Was there stick & string options that day as well?
Stick, your "little princess" is a doll. Bringing the boys along are one thing, bringing the little princess along opens up windows in my mind. I got one of each, and they sure do make this daddy a richer man.
We call the folks that think killing and eating critters is a digusting thing to do, "mall man" and "mall girl".
I have always loved a gal that is willing to get blood on her painted nails. Speaks volumes. Carry on. You must be doin something right.
Cracks me up,that she aspires to be a Vet...given her propensity to be hacking Critters apart and has no qualm gettin' wet or dirty.(grin)
These two Old Boys are Trampin' Partners and visit every Fall, for The Blood Bath. The gent on the right's favorite line is: "I just enjoy watching your daughter fish" and I of course gotta side with him, less any bias...as it surely is sumptin'.
Anyhow,he hurt himself this year and couldn't make it,so the Old Boy drug his son along and all he(the son) could talk about was Sister and the stories associated,as it was his first visit. So we Hookied a coupla days and she gave him a front row seat on how things work, which never ain't not entertaining.
Last year I missed 'em,due to my work schedule and the missing gent from this year, bestowed a brace of handmade gaffhooks to Momma at work,to give to Sister and to put to use on my return. Beings I've over a dozen gaffs already,we salted them away awaiting his return this year, which wasn't to be. Learning that,we broke one out for posterity, for his pard...so he didn't think his wares were riding a shelf and collecting dust.
So that was how/why this pic was formulated. If I recall correctly, the gent pictured said he was 86 and wasn't sure how many more trips he had left in him.
Fingers crossed...that we all meet again this coming Fall and christine the other club................
I hope the old gent makes it back. Still doing it at 86 is STRONG!
I try to take purty good care of him,as he likes to watch me wield a gaff and I like the sound of same in action...which keeps him from busting his ass when landing victims.
Did slip/fall this year(wasn't wearing corks),while landing a fish for him and ran his hook through my hand, ripped it open further on a rock trying to catch myself and managed to go in over my waders to boot. Had to go buy some SuperGlue, peroxide, gauze and fresh roll of muzzle tape...to get back in the game, which cost me a coupla casts to my chagrin.
Then my hand quit workin' and I had to swim for my rod, after a hookset, replete with a fair sized audience to boot.
Sticks daughter is no doubt growing into a young lady that will have no problemo staying busy on Friday nights,
Sticks father appears to be a dashing and good looking gentleman also,
His son looks to be taking after Grandpa, Good looks and all
Well, I guess 3 out of 4 ain't bad .....
(awaiting the forthcoming and deserving beatdown)
We ALL stole/adopted Pop's,but we don't have the Official paperwork on him.(grin) He's a pard's Grandfather and one could do no better. We LOVE him.
Sister can whip her weight in Wolverines...I've never fretted her wellbeing or decision making...............
Stick,
Have to say your family brings out the best in you...
Hope Christmas goes as well as it can,
Regards and best wishes to you and yours,
Peter
It'd be a good tussle,to see who got him...as Brother Bill and Dave would lay claim too.
[bleep] near cry when he leaves, thinking to myself that it might be the last chance I get in the flesh.
Similar emotion always hit me with my Grandpa, but it was way wetter...despite my efforts to keep things dry. Ain't too many azzholes in this World, luckier than I...................
I've got one like that bottom one except my daughter was a tad bigger and the fish (steelhead) is a tad smaller! I'll scan it in and post it when I get back home.
Here are some pics of my darlin. She loves the horse thing. The other pic was on my stand with brother a couple weeks ago. Kinda tight on a 2 man stand, but we were cozy and had fun. Brother passed up a doe right before dark.
Wonderin if the dick with ears that talked chit about your girl is feelin [bleep] stupid yet?
Larry, have alway's enjoyed yer logging pic's through the year's but the pic's with your youngin's are awesome. It is true measure of a man. My hat's off to ya bud. How bout some more pic's???? Barry
Oldest, rockin' the 10/22. I think if I could just hook her up to an endless tube of rounds for that thing, she'd still be up there! She also likes shooting my heavy .223 at long range, but gave me a lesson in recoil sensitivity as she finds my 7-08 with 120's loaded mild to be unpleasant...
She had her first driving lesson later this day. Put my truck in the ditch up on BLM roads!
Love the duck tape shoe's. Without duck tape half the stuff on the farm I work on would fall apart. My boss buy's it by the case. I'm jealous of all the great pic's of the youngin's. I need to make it a point to carry my camera with me more often.
Could tell by his various videos that there is a lot of good guy in Stick. Then he comes highly recommended here by some of his friends. One only has to be able to read sign.... grin

I agree, way too cool photo with Capt. Phil and Dave. Sad when Phil passed. He had that rough edge mannerism that I liked to watch. Reminded me of my father.
Stick, explain the forearm guard if you will. Merry Christmas.

Figured something like that.....nice to be toting "reinforcements" sometimes.
wife told me I was a redneck (again) last night cause I used duck tape to wrap the G-kids presents..
Dober
I knew you eagle-eyed bastids would catch that one <g>. Those shoes were an act of rebellion. She loved that they made everyone think she needed duct taped shoes. To be honest I was fine with it- more money for ammo!
She's pulling a 4.0 in high school, so she can dress as crazy as she wants as far as I'm concerned. I've got her back. I tell her, kick ASS, and the world will find a place for you... I think some here can relate to that...
Grandkids with first dead critter. They were pumped. Put a rifle in front of the little guy and his eyes light up, even at this age.
My oldest (the one with the duck tape shoes) has spent the last 3 summers living in a tent out on the edge of our woods just because she wants to. Now... let's be honest here.. this last year she had a phookin' palace out there, with a TV and so on, but still, she's about 75 yards away living in a TENT in the Oregon woods for 3 months... I'm not real worried about her as far as ballz. She gonna do FINE.
Anyway she keeps rocking back and forth about killing stuff... this summer she was all ready to poach the deer that was hammering our fruit trees and garden but I wouldn't let her... by the time hunting season came around she'd cooled off and I ended up not buying her a license/tag.
We had a coon going after our chickens and she was ready to whack that [bleep] too, but I wasn't gonna sign off on giving a 15-year-old in a tent a .22 for "oh CHIT!" duty in the middle of the night... she had a pellet gun... but having done some "oh chits!" myself at night, there needs to be some judgement and maturity there before one goes forth into that dark night with a gun... not saying I qualify in those regards but I'm the best we've got... lol...
Big Stick posts the way he posts, uses his "Big Stick Lingo" and it can be informative and also insulting, depending on what he posts. I've gleaned knowledge from him and laughed at lots of his stuff. I also see how some of it is insulting.
None of it annoys me, nor should it annoy others. You can always ignore him if you don't want to read it. He has a posting style that is unique to him, and he made it up all on his own.
What I find hilarious, ridiculous and fascinating at the same time is how many people strive to make posts to emulate his unique style.

Congratulations?
"I'm driving a #$%"
"I'm running #$%"
These and many others are "Big Stickisms" that get copied over and over by others.
I realize that emulation is a form of flattery, but don't you guys that try so damn hard to post like Big Stick feel foolish because you can't figure out your own unique way to post on the internet?

Like I have said before, they's several "Big Stick wannabees" hangin' out here but they just don't cut the mustard. And I'm sure that they know of whom I speak.

Very well done Stick. Haven't been on this forum as long as most but have done some reading on the history of everyone's hang up with you. Everyone is intitled to their opinion and their mistakes and I don't get why the big hang up. Folks need to get over themselves. I have had a total of one pissing match on this forum and could really care less. No big deal, let roll off your back like water off a ducks azz. Interesting evolution on this thread. What started out as kicking dirt at someone ended up as a photo album of "shut the **** up." I am NO ONES cheerleader just stating the obvious from nuetral ground. Entertaining indeed. Well done.
Could tell by his various videos that there is a lot of good guy in Stick. Then he comes highly recommended here by some of his friends. One only has to be able to read sign.... grin
G - yes he does, and I think his tone and delivery has improved, and content very much of value.
Sometimes losing the riddle might convey even more value to folks, but he shoots straight - in what he says, and that can't be said for all - whether knowingly done or not.
I welcome it.
I won't opine on his delivery and tone. He comes across as an azzhole for sure...
The guy won't recommend and usually won't bash something he hasn't tried. He backs with great conviction what he knows works from his own experience... I do the same and can respect that. Toyota, Ruger, Leupold, Danner. Till one schitts the bed I'm good to go. If he showed up to hunt the AZ desert with all that AK gear, after I told him what to get, and bitched about blisters, he'd get "I tried to [bleep]' tell ya, [bleep]" in my camp.
I'd have to believe he's well, at least semi-educated, and likely pretty [bleep] intelligent (educated men often confuse the two).
He gets to try more schitt than most, playing in a target rich environment, having plenty of time off, whilst apparently freely enjoying a disposable income that might embarrass most poster's gross... the constant pursuit of something better and the apparent ability to afford it is how the [bleep] knows what works and doesn't. He's actually saved a wad of cash for those that will listen.
If coming across as a prick is his only drawback, what's not to like? Unless a guy just envied his means, ability, or reputation?
My experience is if you can glean what the man is trying to tell you from the riddles he rattles, there's much to be learned. Even if it is just that he thinks you a fool.
[ I also don't bitch when the neighbor drives the same brand truck I do - bastid - he should come up with his own version of a pick-up.
I mean first Pearl Harbor, then 9/11 and now this - someone using similar vernacular/jargon/syntax to get a point across.
?
I am sure I use my regional vernacular when I post- It comes natural. It's how I converse normally. And when BS does it. it comes off as reasonably "natural"...after all, he invented it. What is so interesting and amusing is those that go out of their way to use Big Sticks lingo on their intraweb posts, as it's so clearly contrived.
As Big Stick says- Get off the couch. Maybe then people can invent their own lingo.
I have a feeling that few of the internet tough guys here on the fire have been around the block to the extent that Big Stick has. Those that don't like him are almost universally those that wouldn't fit in well with other men in general. He likes to prod those that speak of that which they are not well informed and then watch them get all huffy when challenged - serves as a solid barometer re: the BS that some present as fact.
I always figured the a-holes were the ones that gave advice on subjects of which they had no experience and were off base on their conjecture. No matter how nice their presentation, bad intel is bad intel.
Also seems theres a rash of sandy vagigi's on the fire.
I generally get into Steelhead Mode,post-Rut and the two runs carry me until the Bears Rut. Winter fish pictured.
Mid-December is prolly my favorite window for Winter feesh,mid-April for the Spring runs.
Like to catch 200 of each,as a ballpark figure for a respectable year...but the weather can curtail things a smidge. I'm behind the curve thus far on the Fall feesh, but gaining ground nicely.(grin)
Once I get it in my blood,I go crazy...............
43 here now this morning and just barely breaking day. Thinking pretty hard about giving the feesh a rest,as I've about wore my hands out, dealing with them..........
That one in the picture was right around 14 foot in diameter at the butt IIRC.
Northern tip of the Charlotte's circa 1980. At that time I was a riggin rat, mostly RW rigging slinger or SS Hook and Rig. 90 foot Madills mostly. Last couple of years in the woods I spent on a saw.
At that time we were in a virgin watershed. The fishing was as incredible as the trees.
I always viewed Tramp Logging as getting paid to go on Safari, because that's exactly what it was.
If the rumor mill said that the Hunting or Fishing was better somewhere else,I simply pulled the pin and went to see for myself. If the money was better,I did same. Tramping was in my blood and I loved every minute of it.
Pullin' Riggin' is the best job in the Woods, after Cutting.............
Oh but all of his posts are of great importance and a wealth of knowledge. We should all take heed and listen. Rockchuck828, you could be up to say 1,366 by the end of the week if you comented on everyones posts saying their chit sucks and I'm laffin, grin.......... etc.
She could write you a book,on watching Oprah and eating Bon-Bons. Ask her sumptin' about the Outdoors and it gets ugly fast.(grin)
Rain Dance is still working and [bleep] be going my way, with a none too shabby slabby, that I prolly shoulda oughtta bonked for dinner tonight. Maiden Voyage of the newest 11.5' Noodle Rod and it took 3 casts to break 'er in.
Ahhhhhhhhh the agony of the dreaded Winter Doldrums.................(grin)
Don't be pizzed because my pictured Salvage, will outshoot your fancy [bleep].
Blue denotes a Cabela's WHUPPIN' Stick and ain't to be made light of...the Loomis sticker is to prevent theft. Black denotes a Cabela's ProGuide Series and is Loomis stickered, for like reason.

Purchased the Cod at Safeway!................
Well played... I always knew either the kids were catching those fish, or you were buying them....
BS, the funniest thing about you writing a Love letter to yourself in the snow is that you broke your own tradition using your hammer toe instead of spelling with urine like you normally do. You must still be swollen from the vaginal infection that you have flaring up, hope it is not terminal. Get Well Soon
btw: while you are in the doctor's office for your pap smear you might as well get a colonoscopy too so you can deal with your many storied rectal issues at the same time, Hope you will only be out 10 to 12 weeks.
It's long been termed Cast & Blast for good reason. We've Big Game Season 12 months outta the year and Feeshing Season runs same/same. The FIRST Rule of a Gun Fight...is to have a gun.
I never don't not have my nose in the wind...............
Stick- how does an old wolf like that survive? Does it run in a pack and get food from a "pack kill"? With teeth like that, I imagine it's ability to make a kill on anything larger than rodents a tough sell. Please elaborate.
Mild winter,so he had a leg to stand on,as they'll go the route of Bears and take the path of least resistance. Shoulda unzipped his stomach as a curiousity and still might. Prolly full of kelp.(grin)

All we do is shoot and it ain't like a guy don't know what's gonna happen...long before the trigger gets tripped. But I reckon it is just a formality, with multiple escape routes but a leap away,to go through the motions of "backing" one another up.
The 50gr V-Max dug most impressively, smashing the near shoulder and then angling forward through the neck, stopping on the offside hide...................
Are the wolves ever a "threat" to folks? I did hear about a book called 3 little pigs once. Of course, we shoot pigs around here too. Grasshopper with a couple:
I tell grasshopper I want to experience the stories I hear about being attacked by a hog. No such luck yet, and until I do I am calling bullchit. Wolves? Dunno about them.
Had a Brownie tree part of the crew in one particular Unit and another bailed offa cliff,to escape and I tried for ever to get the bastard to [bleep] with me.
Couldn't get that lucky...and I'm still a fan of crowding [bleep]..............
Friend of mine worked as an engineer on an oil project in one of the former Russian 'Stans.
The depot he worked at was in a huge fenced camp, that evolved its own village for the local workers and their families.
He was saying one of the main dangers in the camp was the village curs that packed up and would travel around like a wolf pack..In day light, they weren't too brave, but at night you wouldn't want to pass out p1ssed anywhere as you'd be a goner..Even in the day, a simple bite meant being shipped off for Rabies jabs..
After much complaints that the dogs were getting out control, the local "dog catcher" was sent in to sort them out, which he did with an AK-47..
The guy would drive around the town half drunk and just let loose when he saw a dog; any folks around and about had to duck for cover!
I'm thinking "Health and Safety" wasn't a big issue over there...
I shoot alotta different stuff and the reasons to build is getting fewer and fewer. Though as per always..224's are still routinely twisted the dumbest, from the Factory(s).
Would love to see a 1-8" Montucky in 223 and 22-250 both..............
i picked up one in 260 bout 3 years ago now, first gun i knew i would never sell once i picked it up.......need to get around to picking up a 223 to replace my Savage, feels like a 4x4 chunk of lumber compared to the 84M......
Redemption was hardly mandated,as it's only courteous to grant the maligned opportunity to expound upon doin' nuttin' and the "satisfactions" inherent.
Read it? You got to be sh**ting me, I'm going to the store for some shredded parmesan and mozzarella, and some good bread. Those are the dots I want to connect.

Thanx for posting food pics for me to see this morning, when I hadn't et my breakfast yet, ya horrible sumbeech. Tempted now to open a can and whoop-up some tuna melt on a Thomas muffin?
Closest I'll get to any halibut cheesy bread here, this morning.
