A rather minty 9.3x62 FN98 Husqvarna just arrived today with a set of Redding dies, and I already have some 286 Partitions and a couple pounds of Ramshot Big Game set aside. My local dealer has both Norma and Lapua brass available per 100, at essentially the same price.

I realize both of these brands of brass are pretty much as good as it gets, but are there any advantages/disadvantages, or practical difference between the two?

I have used both and prefer Lapua for a number of rifles. Norma seems to makes thicker brass and over here is more expensive.

I have used both, Norma can be a bit thicker but no issues. In my 9.3X62 I have Lapua and it is great brass. Either will work just fine.

I prefer the Lapua, but the Norma works great, as well as does the much cheaper PRVI from Grafs. The 9.3X62 is not very hard to feed.

I have and use both, I personaly tend to favor Lapua when I have the choice.
There is no bad choice here.

RWS is getting rather hard to find. Spent way to much to get the last 5 boxes of the RWS 6.5X57 from Huntintons.. If you can get it is the equal or better than Lapua or Norma.

Privi 93X62 brass works good for me. --- Mel

I get my RWS from Ralf Martini. Ralf is in Canada, but that hasn't posed any problems. Prices are fair and they usually have a large stock. I am using Lapua in my 9.3x62.

When I first got my 9.3x62 Prvi brass from Graf's made sence since it was considerabily less $ than Norma. I have had nothing but good results with it other than a few of the 200 cases I bought had thicker than normal rims and required some effort to get in and out of the shell holder. They functioned perfectly in the rifle even though I use them only as practice rounds.

Then someone gave me several hundred rounds of Norma 9.3x62 brass that was very dirty, had green crud on it, stains. I stuck it in the polisher for the weekend and it cleaned up beautifully. I reloaded several now about 12 times with Big Game and 286 Prvi's for practice and none have cracked or show any real signs of wear. Obviously good stuff.

I have been planning on buying at least 20 pieces of Lapua brass just to see how the rich people live, but the Graff/PRVI stuff has been so good and lasted so well I haven't really felt the need to try the expensive brands. Someone above said the 9.3X62 is so easy to feed that any decent brass will do fine; I agree. Seems like our major ammo companies are getting into the 9.3 business so life may get even simpler.

On the subject of 9.3, anyone want to tell us about your rifles and results?
