I need powder for my .257 bee, and wanted to know your take on R-33 since it is now available. I do realize it was primarily developed for the .338 lapua.
I haven't even seen any yet--though I hope to.
It may be just the ticket for the overbores like the .264 Win Mag.

Hope to get some and try it out. When is the ETA?
Where does it fit in the burn rate chart? I can't even find it listed on the Alliant web page. You would figure that there would be some published data before it hit the street. I know a few places are now shipping it.
It's gonna be among the slowest powders like US-869, 50BMG etc. Hopefully slower than that with better energy, and no temperature sensitivity.

We can all dream, can't we? Ha!
I must be a dinosaur. I haven't even heard of it, but then 4 bourbons sometimes cloud my brain.

Has Hodgdon gotten around to releasing any Retumbo data for this cartridge? They offer it for the 25-06. When I had my 7mm RM, this was a solid performer.......I'd think would do quite well in a .257.

Kaiser Norton
RS Magnum and Retumbo are next to each other on the burn chart. I know Mule Deer favors Magnum for the .257

R-33 is supposed to be even slower with the properties of R-17, i.e. extreme weather tolerance and high energy.

Azshooter on the fire has begun some load testing with it.
