If a guy wanted to use a LH 30-06 action for a 9,3 x 62, do you have a preference as to which maker? The purpose for this gun is a bear rifle and it will feature a 20 inch barrel. The only requirement is that the action function perfectly. Stainless steel would be nice, but if that does not matter to you, it does not matter to me. As for CRF, I have no preference as long as it works flawlessly. One preference I do have is that a shorter bolt throw would be nice, but not essential.
I ain't PS, haven't hunted brown bear, and only have a little experience with the 9.3x62, but that never stops anybody on the internet.
I think my first choice for an action would be the Ruger.
The 9.3x62 seems a very well mannered case--no belt, no steep shoulder, not high pressure. So I think it should feed well and extract smoothly in virtually any action you use. My favorite LH hunting rifle actions are the Winchester, Remington, and Ruger. Stainless Win 70s are way too spendy, Remington's are probably the standard against which all others are judged, but stainless/standard boltface actions are not uber common. For a bear gun, I think the scope mounting system on the Ruger would be hard to beat, and they are rugged actions.
There are a few floating around of the imported LH Zastavas Mausers chambered in 9.3x62. If you keep an eye on the gun listing/auction sites you may find one. They were none to attractive stock wise but they are a 98 Mauser, albeit with a sliding safety rather than the traditional Mauser safety. With some work they make up to a very nice rifle. I had one in 7x57 but because I already had too many projects going, I let it go.
I don't know that they ever made it in stainless though.
I,ll second the Ruger , my LH 35 Whelen in a Ruger with a Borden stock is my most used rifle and I have a few! I would sell you my Ruger SS in 25-06 and you could have it rebored to 9.3 X 62. Would be a good option.

Don't overlook the 35 Whelan, .358 Norma and any of the .375s.

I don't think it's about the action. It is not hard to find a good reliable action, Mauser 98, Ruger 77, Winchester mdl 70, CZ 550. The question is, do you reload. 375 Ruger is easy to find but 9.3x62 not so much. At least not locally, I have never seen it on the shelves here in Tok. I can't speak for other parts of Alaska.

The only possible issue I see with the ruger is aftermarket stock options are more limited than a m70, m700, or their respective clones.
I'd buy a left handed Remington 700 KS in 35 Whelen.

Pretty hard to ignore this guidance. Looks to me like one could load the 375 Ruger down to approximate 9.3 ballistics (2500fps or so) and still have a pretty versatile rifle. As they say, you can load down but you can't load up ...
Anyone here load for this caliber?
I had one in a stainless laminate lefty and it worked fine, I would get it bedded first and replace the "recoil pad" with something that works if they are still putting that thin little pad on. I would prefer a 35 Whelen or 9.3x62 over the 375 Ruger but there isn't anything wrong with the latter. Big Game was my go to powder with 235 gr Speer's, 260 gr and 300 gr Accubonds. RL 15 worked well in my two friends Alaskan's one with the 260 gr Accubond and the other with the 260 gr Partition.
I moved my 375 out after getting my perfect 35 Whelen built on a LH Rem 700 action and am quite happy with it. Would love to try a 9.3x62 one day as well.........
i used varget for fireforming some brass for my 375 ruger not a bad recoil. varget works great in 9.3x62 too ...
seems we are a few lefty liking the short barrel 375 ruger.
