Where is all the 4350 gone to? H4350 is impossible to find. IMR 4350 is getting hard to find.
I don't know. I stumbled across 4 pounds of it at a lgs the other day. I bought all 4 pounds because that was the first time I've seen it in 2 years. I was hoping that was a good sign that we'd be seeing more of it. However, I haven't seen anymore on the shelves since then... I'm going to Reno tomorrow, I'll be looking for some there as well....
Found 1 lb containers a Midway of IMR, but would like to have some H 4350
I've got some 4350 left but I'm starting to run a little low on Alliant 2400 and I haven't seen locally for a couple of years.
Store close to me is suppose to have 8lb jugs of H4350, they don't ship powder or primers. Hodgdon just shipped a bunch of powder so keep your eyes open.
hanco,
I wouldn't bet on H4350 being regularly available anytime soon, but haven't had much difficulty in finding IMR4350, either in local stores or on the Internet. Just checked the three websites I buy from most, and two of the three had IMR4350 in stock.
Cabela's online has 8 lb containers of H4350, but you're gonna pay retail. Hazmat is only $20 and you'll get free shipping over $99, so it might work out about equal.
I was getting pretty low. Then in Feb I found 4 lb at a mom and pop store I go to every now and then, I bought all 4. Then this last weekend they had a some more, I bought another 3. Then my local store got in one lb, yes one, on Monday and I bought it. I am back up to about 12 lbs in my stash. That should be enough to go ahead and finish off the barrel in my Creedmoor.
Other powders I buy according to need and price, but H-4350 I buy no matter what if I see it.
Have mentioned this before here, but I grew weary of searching for H4350 and after trying IMR4451 decided to switch over to it for the same purposes. This has worked very well on more than half a dozen cartridges so far, and 4451 has also worked well in several other rounds where I've never tried H4350. One example--it immediately became the front-runner during load development in my new 6XC.
Hanco: My local (small!) gun/pawnshop has 5 one pound cans of IMR 4350 and 4 one pound cans of H 4350 - I have a long time supply of both and have not had to search for it in years.
They also had the 8 pound cannister of the new IMR 4451 for $222.00 and another 8 pound cannister of IMR Rifle powder (I forget the actual type - will check again tomorrow) for $190.00.
If you need their phone number let me know and I will forward it to you.
Good luck in your search.
Hold into the wind

MD - why do you say H4350 won't be available anytime soon?

What bullet are you testing John? I've wore out a couple of XC barrels and have some good loads I could pass on...
Thanks! I'm using several bullets, but mostly am working with the 105 Berger VLD, because I have more of them than anything else. But once that's nailed down, will be trying others from 95-115 grains.

Hey Mule Deer,
Have looked long and hard for the IMR4451 and have yet to see it on a shelf. Have even requested it with the offer to buy 5 lbs from a couple of LGSs and they write it down and I never hear from them. I know it's available online. Any idea why it hasn't hit any store shelves yet?
I've seen it in several stores around here, but have never seen any Reloder 16--while handloaders in other states (especially eastern) say they're finding 16.
Damned if I know why some powders are in stores in some areas and not others.
Thank everyone. Got 4 lbs of IMR 4350 on the way. I'm going to try the 4451 soon.
I have stopped at the local Cabela 3-4 times in the last few weeks, no IMR 4350 on the shelf.

IMR 4350 was one of the first to show up after the powder famine up here in the north. 4350s have been much easier to get than 22 rimfire. Truly a 'go figure' deal.

I hadn't seen any in a while but Sportsman's Warehouse (Medford, OR) had it on the shelf on Saturday.

Local store was out of H4350 and IMR 4350 today, both were in stock a few days ago. Reloader 16 was in stock along with a bunch of other stuff.

RL16 is available pretty much everywhere around here. I've been using it a fair amount and it seems to track pretty well with most 4350 data. Just about like 4451. So far it has been pretty accurate where it fits much like H or IMR's version.
Keep your eye on the Graf and Sons website. They get powders in on a regular basis. They often have a sale on primers. The thing I like about them is the fact that they will ship powder and primers (ground shipping) together...and you pay only one hazmat fee. Last time I ordered it think the fee was $27.50. Often they will run a deal where if you buy 40lbs of powder, hazmat shipping is waved. We have a group of guys who bundle our orders together to take advantage of that. Worth checking into.
There is an eight pound jug of H 4350 on GunBroker. Bid up to 305.00. Several days to go on auction.
Check Powder Valley regularly; they had some H4350 one-pounders a month or two ago. As expected, they went quickly. l bought two eight pound kegs from them in the last year or two. It appears that sellers don't know when they will receive a shipment or the size of the shipment.

As of today, Scheels in Sparks, NV has some IMR 4451 in 1-lb containers for $30. No H4350, but they do have IMR4350. No Rel16.
I have just started using RL16 and so far I have been impressed with it in the 30-06 and 6.5 Swede. It seems to be tracking pretty closely to H4350. I am not sure how it stacks up with the temperature sensitivity but in accuracy and speed it seems pretty close, almost grain for grain with H4350 data.

What bullets ya loading with RL-16 in the 30-06? What velocity?

180 Accubonds, Hornady Cases, CCIBR2's.
Speed is 2720 for 56. I had some 57's loaded but haven't had a chance to shoot them yet over the chrono. Accuracy seems to be sitting right around an 1" without too much fiddling so far.
Thanks man!!! Have gone up to 57 grains with RL-17 and interested what the more supposed temp stable RL-16 would do.

No problem. It seems like good stuff so far. Plan on giving it a try in some other cartridges as I get more time at the bench. It is very good in the 270 with 130 Hornady's as well. Pretty speedy.

Hey czech1022 I was at Scheels a day before you and they had 8lb's of H-4350 and Fed 210 Match primers. Bought them as an early birthday gift to myself. I felt like I'd won the lottery.
8 lbs of H 4350 just sold for 315.00 on GunBroker, plus shipping.
