I was at my local gun shop yesterday and noticed Federal AR small rifle match primers (GM205MAR), was wondering if any one here had tried them yet ???? are they the same as regular 205's with a harder cup ??? they have a green mix on the inside instead of red and AR stamped on the face. have always used 71/2 primers in my AR's but have to give these a try

Never used any but from past experience with federal match primers is they are good .

Boatanchor: I have numerous friends who shoot very accurate heavy barrel AR type Rifles and several of them have used the long time proven Federal 205 M (match) primers to achieve that accuracy.
None of them have ever mentioned a problem or a worry while using these Federal 205 M (match) primers.
I wonder what problem the fine folks at Federal have perceived or are trying to solve?

They didn't work very well for me.

They supposedly have harder cups and "mil-spec sensitivity" (whatever that means) than the other Federal SR primers.
