Growing up we used Hoppe's #9 for all of our gun cleaning needs and never knew that much else was needed. We never did any high volume shooting so the concept of lead and copper fouling never showed up. I want to install DBC in most of my barrels, but mainly in two rimfires. A Remington 511 made in 1941 that has alot of wear in the barrel and a new 10/22 that the accuracy drops after about 40 shots or so.

A am looking for advice on several things:

1. How to best to clean to bare steel.

2. How best to remove lead and copper for any firearms I don't DBC.

3. Is there anything special about applying DBC to rimefires?

4. Semi-autos? The 10/22 and I may do my AR.

Thanks All.
Answers in order:

1) Just follow the instructions that came with the DBC.

2) Same answer as #1

3) No, there is nothing special or different.

4) Same answer as #3.

There have been many discussions about DBC in the past that you can find with the Search mode.

They should answer just about any question you could have.
