....and they're reporting no problems, so we should be receiving the first printing in October, probably earlier than later. Riflesandrecipes.com is set up to take pre-orders, or you can call 406-521-0273. The price (which includes medi-mail shipping in the U.S.) is $32.75.
Mule Deer, just to be clear, this is new information as opposed to a second edition, correct?

Best,
Gun Doc
Yep, all new information. There are 17 chapters on various aspects of handloading, from ballistic coefficient to how rifle powders act at various temperatures (including a bunch of tests), 24 chapters on various aspects of hunting rifles themselves, and load data for over 20 cartridges, including new bullets and powders in a couple already covered in the first GACK.

It's just about exactly the same size.
Got it ordered
Good news!

Thanks John.

Need to get a few on order for the crew...
Thanks, Nate.

Perhaps I should also mention that ONE part of the book is the same as in the first GACK. The publisher (Eileen) decided Appendix 1, "The Rules," should appear again, because I refer to some of it in the chapters of GACK II, especially the 4-to-1 Rule. But other than that exception, it's a different book.

I got your message and ordered mine. Thanks, JB.
ordered mine yesterday, too.
Just ordered . Been looking forward to it
Mr. John-I just went to go ahead and pay for mine, but have a question. Is there any way to pay through PayPal using my PP balance instead of a debit/credit card? If so, I couldn't figure out how. Thanks...Eddie
Eddie,

I don't believe there's a way to do that on the website, but you can phone Eileen at 406-521-0273 (the number listed on the site) and use PayPal directly.
Thanks John! Will do this week my Friend.
Put in my order. Looking forward to reading it!
ordered GUN GACK 2 should be interesting ,here`s a question for people like myself who hunt when its below zero in the snow in the winter. does your book say much about which powders work best in cold weather ? I have seen when some powders do not work as well when ammo and rifles are left outside in below zero weather. for varmint rifles like 17 rem, 223,22-250 , 220 swift,243 win and even a 22 hornet which is a good choice on bobcats.and even some less popular cartridges in cold weather, just what powders would be a better choice in cold weather. I feel sometime`s rifle reloaders worry to much about hot weather powder problems ,many of us hunt when its colder. myself and friends we always leave our rifles outside in our cold trucks, we have very few mechanical failures with leaving guns and ammo in the cold. thank you,Pete53
Pete,

I primarily hunt more in cold than hot weather as well, and started testing various powders in real cold over 25 years ago.

There's an entire chapter in GGII about temperature and powder, including actual cold-weather tests of cartridges from the .223 Remington on up to .375 H&H. But it also discusses how and why results vary even with the same powder in different rifles, though I have yet to see any significant difference in either velocity or point of impact with recent powders advertised as temperature-resistant.

H414 would not be one of my first choices for cold-weather shooting, but as I noted above, results even with pretty temp-sensitive powder can be pretty consistent depending on the SPECIFIC load (including primer) and rifle.
M.D. I look forward to the Gun Gack 2 book ,and maybe I may switch powder too,i certainly will try some other powders. its great to see someone has put some cold weather test results on powder in a book. friends and myself fish, archery and trap shoot much more in warm weather than shoot our rifles, but come fall thru our long winters in Minnesota " 5-6 cold months" we use our rifles plenty and do a lot of reloading. myself I even put up a shooting - reloading 10x12 house that can be heated with cement bench`s too shoot off also. I keep this 100 yard range by the house, mow`d in summer and snow plowed all winter, and being a lineman 35 years I was able to get used poles and old street lights the power company I worked for were going to throw away and have had a lighted 100 yard range for 20 some years,so I have done some testing too on powder also in cold weather. your Gun Gack 2 book should be a great read ! thank you much,Pete53

Ordered II - I'm hoping that it comes in before I leave for my hunt so that I have something to read during the down time.
We're hoping to get an estimate on the delivery date from the printer this week.
I ordered mine, and I'm here to tell you it's worth the phone call and money spent just to talk with the friendly witty woman on the other end of the line!

Gonna order mine is a few minutes.

Got it done. Eileen helpful as always.

Look forward to receiving it.

Mine is all ordered! After I look through it, I will take it to Staples to get it spiral bound. I will then be able to read it and lay it flat.

I already got mine. It seems to be much like the first in that all the stuff I load and shoot is left out again. The good news is that your phone still works so I don't really need the book...
Is it shipping out yet ?
No, we haven't even gotten word from the printer that they shipped 'em to us. The last word was early next week. We'll see.
