Recently purchased a Savage LRH and tried lightening the trigger (advertised tunable down to 2.5#), turned it all the way counter clockwise till I could not turn it anymore. Still way too heavy of a pull, well over 3#.

I know I can buy an aftermarket one but my fun money is low at the moment. I see where I can buy the Savage Target spring for about $10 but that is 1.5# and I don't think I want it that low.

Any tips with the current spring?

Clip a coil off.

It's the answer for a lot of factory triggers.

I assume from the non-adjustable side of the spring?

Thanks....

I had good success by grinding the body of the trigger where the spring threads in back about 1/8". That allowed the spring to back off that same amount.

This was on a target trigger for shooting off the bench. I don't remember what the trigger weight ended up being.
