Has anyone tried these?
They look quite good to me as a medium distance hunting bullet. Price is right on this machined copper bullet.
Quickload shows excellent speed with the .270 win/ 125 grain Maximus bullet and Reloder 26
Sounds like a potential elk load with a muzzle velocity of 3286 fps and a 24" barrel. Yup, gonna give it a go.
I located a couple of boxes, have Reloder 26 on hand .
I would like to hear of others experiences with this bullet. Thanks
Haven't tried the new Maximus, but have some experience with the Raptor and Match/Tactical/Hunting (MTH). The Raptors usually shoot great and kill very well, whether driven at moderate or high velocity--but the BC generally isn't great. The BC is far better in the MTH line, but have had mixed results getting them to shoot well, not uncommon in monolithics with ungrooved bodies. Also had mixed result with MTH expansion in various testing media, also not uncommon in monolithics with very small hollow-points.

From what CE says on their website, the Maximus seems to be a compromise between the Raptor and MTH.
Thanks John, the hollowpoint looks larger than what I see on the mth ( it is easy to damage, imo)and they are less expensive. I won't know until I get them here, they look good to me- online and on the tiny screen on this phone. Thanks
Interesting they appear to be a "bore rider" design with a single or on some multiple driving bands. If you get some measure them to see if this is the case. If so they may produce very low pressure. Let us know how they perform.
