Ok short story I lost everything in my house fire, 50000 assorted primers 100’s # of powder was biggest hurt lol they got some heat but stayed dry and I’m leery

In the 90’s I was reloading for performance and cost savings
In the 2000’s was reloading for performance
In the 2008 and future was reloading as a doomsday preper hoarding primers powder brass etc cause of politics
So at 52 I’m starting over
Hunting arsenal
223, 25-06, 300wsm, 30-06, 450 bushmaster
With all the advancements in ammo am I wiser to spend money on new ammo or a new press to start over with
Coyote hunt is about all I do with the 223, 25-06 and I prefer the 25
I bought the 300wsm thinking and hoping to go big game hunting but probably never will be able to afford it
The 450 is my deer rifle
I have several handguns for home defense and fun
Overall I don’t shoot much unless with a 22
I seriously was just preparing for the end as survival need and bartering

The first thing I'd do would be to call RCBS with a list of everything damaged in the fire and see what they will do. You will probably be surprised.

I just gotta say I had lost all rifle scopes as well and I called bth Burris and leupold and I was switching to more leupold over the years but their customer service experience sucked.

RCBS is the best in the business about replacing their equipment for whatever reason. Usually just call them and whatever is wrong for whatever reason is in the mail to you immediately at no charge.

That is a fact, they want you using their products

I’ll bet RCBS will fix your equipment free.

If I was starting over, I wouldn't buy any shotshell reloaders…..simply buy the ammo.

I'd grab a few bricks of .22 LR in my favorite brand.

Assuming my insurance left me some cash to afford a few guns, I'd get a 20 Ga shotgun of a high quality O/U or autoloader and a CZ bolt rifle for .22 LR.

After that a .243, and a .270 Winchester. The M-70 is still a fine rifle as is the Weatherby Vanguard or Howa.

Get a new RCBS loader with dies and ancillary items from RCBS for the .243 and .270.....some 55 grain BTs for the .243 and some 90-110 grain Barnes for the .270....you're set to go for anything in North America.....and you don't need to have thousands of rounds of ammo right now.....buy other guns and tools as time flies by.

Also, it might serve you well what your true needs might be if we do see a "S---Hits the fan" scenario.....hint.....it's not thousands of rounds of ammo!
