anyone try one of those summit presses from rcbs
I've had one for a couple years and really like it. you can't prime cases on it but I always used a hand primer tool
I’ve one. As Grumpy said....no big deal if you hand prime.
I have had one for 4 years now . (I sold the Forester.)
Great press, throws some low run out rounds.
I had heard they came assembled really loose or things loosened up as you used them. I think many just used a little loctite or something to resolve the issue. Are they still coming like this or has RCBS fixed this?
Never heard of that problem.
Thanks for the info, they look interesting
I have used one for a few years... It's a good press for straight wall cases and/or small bottlenecks like 22H, 223, 6PPC, etc. When you try to FLR larger cases, like 308, you run into excessive resizing efforts compared to a Rockchucker or a Forster, no matter the lube used. If you don't keep the handle tight in the press, the threads will break off. This is one of the main complaints about the Summit. It's a well built press and keeping the play in tolerances is easy. It does load straight ammunition.
Love mine , agree on loading nice straight ammo .
Get the shorter bullet seating handle too . . .
How about the new RCBS Rebel press that's coming out?
