Is the Kimber 84M a coned breech, like the Springfield and old M70? Did quite a bit of internet research last night, and like often happens, encountered conflicting information. Figure the Fire can shed some light.
From what I was told directly ftom the people at Kimber, the 84s are a square Mauser style breech.
jk16, thank you for the information!
Couldnt be more coned!! Here is a Kimber 84 bolt and barrel breech, no flats.....

It appears to be clear as mud. Just took a peak at my two 84m Montanas and I have one of each.
The .223 is a square style and the Roberts is coned. Depending on what you're looking for you could get either.
Ok, this is getting interesting
Thats interesting on the 223. Have built no less than 50 in standard calibers ie. 308 bolt head, and all were coned.

223/204 are both square, the rest of the 84m’s are coned.
