Bugger, When I bought my first 1895 .405, I bought a few boxes of Hornady ammo and shot some and used that empty brass for reloading. And then bought extra ammo and brass from anyone selling it when they discovered the 1895 .405 kicked a bit.
IMHO, the 1895 .405 is a great hunting rifle and it can be loaded down with 41 Mag pistol bullets or on up to 400 grain .411 Woodleigh bullets. Have fun with yours.
Liked mine so much that I bought a Simson .405 double rifle to keep it company.
