Boys, I'm going to start reloading for the 375 in the near future, and am getting the neccesary supplies gathered up.

I'm going to use hornady brass, fed. 215M primers, and a variety of 300 gr. soft/solid bullets. Which powder should I start with? I want the loads around 2400 fps., and I don't want to use a compressed load. I have always liked Hogdon powders, and contemplated H4350 or H4895. For those of you already reloading the 375 are there better poders to look at?

i'm running H4895 and RE 15 in my .375 AI.
R15 or H4350 is my two for my 375 Wby

Those would be my first two choices as well, H4350 for 300's and RL-15 for anything lighter. Though good old IMR4895 will also do quite well with bullets in the 270-grain range.
Yeah, what he said. ^^^^^^^

Never loaded 300s, but RL15 did superbly for me in 235 and 270gr bullets.
I've had such good results with RL-15 (even with 300gr bullets) that I've simply not tried anything else.
+1 with RE 15. I has been very accurate with everything I have tried out of my 375 H&H.
Picture's worth a thousand words...

Jorge...bigwhoop...geeze fellas. Those are some groups!
Re 15 is the powder likely to give the best combination of velocity and accuracy

Winchester 760 and 300 grainers is likely to shoot in more different 375s than about naything else.

+1 WW760 with 300 gr, R15 or IMR4320 with lighter bullets.
I was able to get good velocity and accuracy from IMR4064.
RL 15, H414, Win 760 (same as 414)
For me,R15 for lighter bullets: 235, 250 and 260 and 270 grs. IMR or AA 4350 (the only 4350 I have) for 300 grs. But with the 260 NP, the best load is with 85 grs AA4350: 2850 f/s. WW cases, F215 primers.

I like H4350 with 300 grain bullets and H4895 with 270 grain bullets. The only reason I don't use Re15 is that I'm trying to minimize the different powders I use in various cartridges.
RL15,H4350,and if I were looking to experiment a bit,RL17.
Another vote for R15.
win 760.73.8 gr will get u2400 fps.top load is 77.9 gr will get u 2500 fps.AS long as ur using hornady bullets.Or as lomg as the diameter is 0.375
In the 375 H&H I use WW 760 for the 275 BBC...I have used this load to dispatch my NA bears...

a friend of mine likes 4064 for 250s, WW 760 for 270s and IMR 4831 for the 300...
I like RL15 and IMR 4350.
I have been told by a guy that pressure checked for the 375 H&H that RL-17 was the best powder for 300 grains and up.At factory velocities the pressure was low and for the heavier weights, his reply was,it really made them scream!!!

Jayco
RL-15 hands down -- at least for my rifle. 270 TSX and 73.5 grains of 15 is like "buttah."
mine likes 75.0 gr Rl 15 under a 270 gr tsx and mag federal primers.....
Well, based on preliminary shooting of the 300 gr. DGX and DGS, with H4350, I'll be doing a lot more testing with that powder.

I second the RL17. I've tried H4350, RL15, 760/414, and Big Game. RL 17 gives the best pressure/velocity readings with the 300gr Swift A-frame. I've had around MOA accuracy with all of them but RL17 is the most consistent and I'm getting 2615 fps without any pressure. I've reached pressure signs at about 2550-2575 with the other powders mentioned. I actually had no pressure up to 2675 with RL17 but found a more accurate load down around 2600.

I'm headed to the range again today. I leave on Tuesday for my Zim Buff hunt. Wish me luck!

What powder works in someone elses gun may or may not mean a thing in your gun..You have to discover that for yourself..Fortunately for you you picked a caliber that is EASY to load for and most are not picky..

I always try IMR-4064, H4350 or RL-15, to start with, but have had luck with IMR-4895, WW-760, H414..
