This year we shot a few Black Bears with a 470 Capstick and the cutting edge 320 grain brass hollow point bullets. Results were outstanding. DOA

With good shot placement would you have expected less???
about 0ne week old give or take a day
Good shooting there. And good EATIN as well! I would have expected about that performance with that cartridge/bullet combo. Thanks for posting.
Out of curosity, what size was the largest bear you took with your .470?
U gotta be kidding me, that's like a cocker spaniel...why would you shoot that lil dude let alone post a pic of it?

I didn't shoot that bear a 12 year old girl did and she was very happy with her first big game animal. 4 kids shot bears on our baits and all the bears were small and all the kids were very pleased with there animals. 3 are being mounted
Yikes that 12 year old used the 470 Capstick? Glad she didn't get tipped out of the tree...
Dober
The bears were shot from a portable bench at 168 yards
6 with a 470 capstick
Load was 87.0 H 322
275 grain Barnes HP
320 grain Cutting Edge brass HP
Looks like it WORKED! Good on ya for letting some kids shoot bears out of your baits. I am betting a good time was had by all.
What state are you in? We lost our bating and hound hunting of bears here in WA a couple of years back.
Idaho--The kids had a great time and it was fun to watch them shoot there first animal. I put a 1.5 OZ jewell trigger on the rifle so they could shoot it accurately and did a short video of each shot and gave it to them
