My new one was built by Nick Hughes and James Anderson doing the metal work, Jim Kobe doing the stock, and the late Tommy Kaye.
It is on a 1917 Enfield. It has extended tangs, Wiebe bottom metal, Shilen barrel, unknown 3 pos safety and trigger.
I think the guys did a wonderful job.

gunner500, you can hunt Elk in Okla.

That looks wonderful. smile

I have a nice Bastogne blank here. Keep thinking about having a big gun built for it. A .416 or .375 keeps coming to mind.

Yes,about 10-12 miles South of Las Cruces.
Ken, my best friend of 58yrs is retired and in Las Cruces.

Smart man for choosing Las Cruces. smile
Ken, his Sister&BIL were there, so I guess that was the reason.

Without a doubt the nicest 1917 Enfield I've ever seen. Can't even recognize it.

Thank you.

You just have to quit posting pictures of that rifle all over the Internet! It is about the nicest Enfield I've seen in all respects.

After reading retiring I'm trying really hard to stay away from things that cost a lot of money and you seem to have a very nice collection of rifles that Put evil thoughts in my head and I do have a clean Remington made 1917 that the wants to be made into something.

Save your nice Remington and find a donor
Nick Hughes and James Anderson are great craftsman.

Yep, it would fit right in with this .404J Burgess Enfield.

This isn't my gun, just a photo I've had in Photobucket for some years, dating back to my .404J M-70 build.

Agree. Those guns are getting scarce.

Now, if it's been "bubba" smithed, ears ground off, etc., then a donor. If not and in good shape, ditto Butch's advice.

You can spend a LOT of money doing a full house job like that.

Just for the bucks, get a .416 Rigby CZ, if not fancy enough, get AHR to fix it up. I think that would be less expensive than what Butch did. Maybe not as pretty, but nice.

Butch, that gun is almost too pretty to take hunting...

Beautiful rifle! Looks like a serious rifle for hunting.

Are you going to scope it?

Yes sir, The custom bases are for the CZ rings. I have both a 1" and 30MM Alaska Arms quick disconnect rings.

Found another picture of the Burgess Enfield in my Photobucket.

Butch's gun is on a par with this one, IMO.

Jon, I will start on a different course. I was gifted with a new Eliseo Tube Gun kit.It is the RTS target model.

I will be looking for a SA 700 receiver and chamber it in 308. I have not a clue what I will do with it. I do have a lot of Grandsons.

Now that's something I didn't expect! :-)

Awesome. Safety is probably Ed LaPour.

Actually no, Ed was retooling his Enfield safeties when I was doing mine. It was put together from the million dollar drawer. You know the drawer that you throw things into when cleaning up. I do have several of Ed's and they are top notch.
Could you loose the Wal-Mart Camera and put up some nicer pics??? laugh Obviously joking....

That is awesome Butch!

Congratulations on another fine rifle.

Mike
Thanks Mike. I do see that I mentioned Tommy Kaye's name in the first post and didn't credit him for the engraving.

Very beautiful! I've wanted to build a 416 Rigby for some time, this fuels the fire.
Posted By: jwp475 Re: Another new 416 Rigby - 06/03/17

Beautiful, Butch!
Man, I made a big mistake in my first post. Jim Kobe has done several stocks for me, but this was done by James Anderson. Both are great stockmakers.
