Gravenstein apples should be ready for harvesting in a few weeks. They make some of the best pie you ever tasted.

My father planted an apple tree well over fifty years ago, he called it a pie apple tree.

I planted a Wolf River apple last year, the say, One apple, one pie about that variety.

At my age I'm planting trees for the next generation.

There is a variety of apples here that are known as June apples, and they are the earliest maturing apple that I know of. They also make the best pies.
