The American BBQ Showdown on Netflix, episode 5 is on wild meats. I'm 1/4 way through and amused. I've cooked about half of the options and am only comfortable with three--whitetail, squirrel, rabbit.
What are your most familiar game meats?
Trout, deer, duck, pheasant, dove, quail and elk. Been a few years since any elk.

I've cooked a bunch more but they weren't options on the show. Racoon, opposum were, but I only tried them once. Gater, iguana, elk, and bison I have no experience with..
Rattlesnake, frog, near every freshwater fish including suckers, gar, and those jumping carp. Pig. Snails. Crawfish. Turkey. Wood cock. Mussles. Buncha salt water fish, including sting rays, which weren't bad.Blue crabs.
We used to just catch a small frog and throw it in a can of chili.

We'd gig them and eat them for breakfast. Legs fried in butter with chilli and garlic powder, served with hominy and a couple fried eggs and bacon. I'm talking camping trips with buddies in my teens.
