Years ago there was a beer bar I frequented when visiting friends in Houston. In those days they would serve half yards and full yards.
The old Modern Inn, in Odebolt had a few.
After league bowling we'd pick on some guy.
They hated to wash them, so they charged extra!
So place in Wisconsin has some as well.
There is a restaurant/bar called Yard House that sells a lot of beers on tap and you can order them in a 1/2 Yard glass. Pretty fun place!
Interesting to drink from one.
Cool looking. Ive been in 2 places that had them. Seems like more marketing than anything.
Any flavor benefit from the glass?
Joe’s Crab Shack used to serve drinks in them. Haven’t been to one in several years. Crappy food anyways.
The glasses I've seen have round bottoms, the trick is not getting beer down the collar.

Not really. I see it as more of a stunt drink.
When I was a kid, a bar on Long Island had a yard glass. They would fill it just to where the bottom bulb met the neck. If you could finish it without taking a bath, you drank all night on the house. If not, it cost you 10 bucks for the try.
I've drunk a few in my days.
Not since my 21st Birthday.
Yes, it got messy !

Especially if you like a beer bath. Once you get towards the bottom that beer comes out at mach speed. The yards are even worse.
Never drank from one but 30 years ago I did a lot of beer bongs.
i've got the full yard glass. picked it up in england. never drank out of it. its buried somewhere in the house.
