We've been doing wings in the air fryer for awhile now but just lately switched to legs. Less expensive, and just as good, if not better. Legs get cooked plain, then get dunked afterwards. A $5 pack of legs is a heck of a bargain. Just need a bigger air fryer.

Not quite the same as deep fried, but they still come out pretty dang good. The nine year old is the saucier and usually uses various hot sauces and butter. And sometimes fresh garlic and serranos.

I'm still surprised how crispy they get.

Seems that most restaurants around here serve soggy wings.

Coat them with brushed on Franks red hot then finish over charcoal !

I like the Frank's. Need to try some Texas Pete.

Those look great. I'm with you on the crispy skin.
Agree on legs 100%

Either in the air fryer or deep fryer they rock!!!

Wife likes a garlic parmesan sauce, I prefer the hotter the better

No kids, but our 2 dogs dont seem to have a preference

I been doing the same thing. I like wings better than legs but for the money legs taste bang good. I like them seasoned many ways one of my favorite is cajun seasoning on the legs and then tossed in Tabasco and butter. I use them legs for a quick snack to stay off the junk food.

I just read the "legs in the air" part, and then I realized it was about cooking. Back to the regular channel.

me too. probably ought to take the space out between air and fryer

That looks great!

I give my drumsticks a rubdown with a BBQ seasoning I mix up. Put in enough oil (1-2 tablespoons depending on how many you are making) and mix it into a paste to rub them with, the oil on the skin makes it fry up crisp and delish. Or a buttermilk bath/seasoning and flour (or cornstarch) for healthy fried chicken legs.

Sometimes throw a whole chicken in the air fryer with the BBQ rub/oil

Air fryer sucks for us.
Too small for four, too slow for batches.

Then I had an epiphany.
We have a convection oven.
Which is all an air fryer is.

Yep, we like to use the convection oven for clucker.

Been using the hell out the air fryer lately. Made twice baked taters with it for the first time and they were a hit. Taters cook fast.

Five in my house, but kids are young and don't eat a whole lot. I've been running the air fryer outside with the summer heat. Less stank inside when air fryering too. Win-win, but I bet a convection oven is handy. We don't have a convection oven.
