I've made matzo ball soup plenty of times. Having grown up on Long Island, I learned to love some classic Jewish dishes (tons of great Jewish delis there). Most Jewish delis are actually part deli and part sit down restaurant.

Having now made chicken and dumplings, I realize that it's essentially matzo ball soup for the gentiles, LOL.

Looking at it after pouring it into the bowl, I assumed it was going to taste like chicken pot pie, and I was right. That's great, because I love chicken pot pie, and it tastes exactly like it. Turned out delicious. Pretty easy to make, too.

I already broke up the dumplings for this shot.

Nope. My chickens are for eggs, only.

That looks scrumptious!
If I wanted to make a great chicken pot pie, I'd just not make the dumplings and pour the soup/gravy into pie crusts and bake them. I think I'm going to try that.
It was watching both versions of True Grit that made me decide to try this. It features in both movies.
Thick or thin?
Looks good TRH. What is the red and green as I have not seen that in CaD's?
