First, is ham loaf a regional food?

Ever freeze tomatoes?

Ham Loaf is huge in Western Pa. Me and the boys love it.

Yes you can freeze tomatoes. they lose a little texture quality but work fine in soups and stews.

From a search, it seems to be “meat loaf” made of ground ham and pork.

Fareway makes it 2/3 ham and 1/3 pork. It is excellent.

Agree...Fareway has a good blend. I was disappointed at the Council Bluffs, IA. Fareway a couple weeks ago.
They always had fresh ground in the meat case, none there. Asked and they only had it frozen in 1 LB packs.
I wanted 3 1/2 LBS. That makes enough for two 9x13" pans of glazed ham balls. Had to thaw it out, Pain in my backside.
Maybe a one time glitch, don't know. I just liked buying it fresh and not frozen.

I like ham loaf very much...but glazed hamballs kick it up a notch. I have a killer recipe!

Yep. Burger too. I think.

It's definitely not real common around here. I know a few people that
eat it. But it's not a pimple on meatloaf's butt.

Have tried it a few times.
Even served it at a friend's house.
Politely complimented the cook, thank them for dinner after church.

I was confused with Pork Roll.

Apparently thats a delicacy in New Jersey.

Jim, I used to listen to a radio guy that chilled for a Jersey pork roll company that would ship it to you.

Never did that. I'm a cheapskate.

But have tried it a few times.
Never found any that I liked.
