Honestly one of my favorite parts of Thanksgiving. Those look great.

Wonderful things -sort of like peanuts in that you can't eat just one (or pretty much can't stop once you start).

sugar? I use a bit of salt and pepper, but not sugar. Those sure look good though, regardless.

Drooling.

Easy way to eat a dozen eggs if you're not careful
Posted By: ironbender Re: Deviled eggs - 11/21/21
I could make a bunch turn into fumes!

Those look damn good…!

Look good but you forgot the bacon and Old Glory.

😁😁😁

Jack, they look plain but looking at your recipe they sound really good. My kids and I make them simple/basic, but the relish and horseradish in your recipe seem like good additions. Your own horseradish too?

Unfortunately no Duke's out here!

I have a ton of horseradish growing in the back yard, but for this I use…

Not many recipes call for sugar but it absolutely makes this recipe. Try it you’ll never go back. It was my grandmothers recipe and we added the chopped olives and horseradish.

Fugg the mayo, use MW and you'll never go back!

I’d rather substitute diesel fuel.

We always top them off with a slice of pickled jalapeño. Always a hit at get togethers
Posted By: BKinSD Re: Deviled eggs - 11/22/21
All look fantastic. The people who live at my house and make these for me use juice from the pickle jar somehow I am told. FWIW

The only thing I would add to that is a dash of tabasco or franks red hot. Looks yummy.
Posted By: local_dirt Re: Deviled eggs - 11/23/21
Look good, fellas!

I ate 5 for lunch. Bad idea. Pretty sure I’m going to be relegated to the couch tonight. Blamed it on the dog the first three times but wife finally caught on.
Posted By: FatCity67 Re: Deviled eggs - 11/23/21
You know its bad when the dog leaves the room.

Not hard to make, last one in is a rotten egg! blush laugh

Dried mustard ......
Posted By: Jim_Conrad Re: Deviled eggs - 11/24/21
I think Mom's recipe has mayo and MW in it.

Sugar, yellow mustard, salt, pepper, celery seed and paprika.

I think.

Pickle juice, you gotta have some pickle juice.
And MW.
Posted By: Jim_Conrad Re: Deviled eggs - 11/24/21
Yeah....she might add some pickle juice as well.

Not too much!

Your error was not giving the dog a couple. Definitely cover scent!

I’m a Dukes man too but must be still too early for me…..WTH is MW?
Posted By: Sbrown Re: Deviled eggs - 11/24/21
I think he is refering to Miracle Whip.....MW
Posted By: StoneCutter Re: Deviled eggs - 11/24/21
Mix in some lump crab meat and top with Old Bay.

Miracle Whip’s sole purpose is for tuna salad. Everything else gets Duke’s. Actually, even tuna salad gets Duke’s as I’m not buying MW for the very occasional batch of tuna salad. Have to try the horseradish.
Posted By: old_boots Re: Deviled eggs - 11/25/21

No MW for me thanks, not even allowed in the house.

A bit of Colman's powdered mustard for the heat.
Posted By: FatCity67 Re: Deviled eggs - 11/25/21
Daughter messaged me said she's bringing this over after she gets off work. I kinda dropped some hints after reading this thread.

Anyone mention cayenne pepper? a must ingredient but just a tad.

Never in my life have I ever contemplated combing sugar with eggs. But I could eat my weight in deviled eggs, all we do is mayo/mw, mustard, and some seasoning salt. I've had fancy ones other folks have made but never seemed worth the effort. That recipe is going to get tried though for sure!

Wifey makes some good ones, just had some leftovers! They make me fart like a mule!

I polished off the last of our tray for supper, with some leftover baked beans. I will be riding the couch tonight. 🙊

Love me some deviled eggs. I have also heard them called "dressed eggs"
Posted By: Lorin Re: Deviled eggs - 11/29/21
I add bacon bits and a little shredded cheese in mine. No MW, only mayo. NO yellow mustard, but I do use dry mustard.

looks good

I like mixing in curry powder, ginger for a change up
