Well, it is raining here and weather looks like it will continue throughout the day.

So, a good lunch is called for and the task is progressing. I pulled a couple porterhouse steaks out of the freezer a couple days ago and they are ready to go.

Diced up some potatoes, onion, and red pepper and seasoned with salt, fresh cracked black pepper, and some rosemary. Into the oven to roast away.

I also made a quick steak sauce, heresy, I know, but I was in the mood for something a little spicy and tangy on this cold day.

Salad on the side.

Hope everyone is having a good Monday!

I consider those top two on the must take list to formal and informal dinners, at least that is the way I was taught growing up.

And leave the bottle !

Had an Uncle who used to bring a bottle of something every time he would come over and take the leftovers home, except for those times when Dad would decide there wasn't going to be any leftovers grin

Heck, I'm good with lunch or dinner. Can't see myself turning my nose up at dinner if lunch is porterhouse steak. smile

Truly one of my favorite meals. Has all the components of a perfect meal, IMHO, but then again, I grew up and still am a "border rat."

With the green chile, a nice cilantro rice, along with some homemade pinto beans, tortillas, bit of sour cream or queso fresco, and salsa...good eats. Eggs with the leftovers in the morning!
