with the total panic here in town about Hurricane Irma coming to visit, the shelves are stripped bare. It was a breeze to do some baking today. This loaf is Oatmeal/Wheat. Absolutely delicious, and makes wonderful breakfast toast.

I assume that before the bread ran out it was going for $7 a loaf or so?

yeah. All prepared. Food, water, gear, tools, and everything else. I have been through about 200 of these. Nothing as nasty as Irma though. Looking for the dang thing to rumble right through town. That is unsual for Florida, to go up the middle. First storm ever, I believe, to be large enough for there to be hurricane winds on both coasts at the same time..

5sdad, I don't know the before price, it was all gone when I got there. lol You are probably right. No gas in town either.

Dan, I have a case of Dukes on the floor as we speak, and several large vine ripe 'maters
Looks delicious Sam !
Looks great Sam! I could eat that whole thing with some butter & honey. grin

Hope you and yours are safe and the storm goes around y'all. Keep your powder dry!

dang thing will certainly have an an effect. First time ever that a single storm caused hurricanes on both coasts at the same time. Should be ok here, but we'll see. Ground is very saturated already, trees will up root easily. There will be flooding. Shrug.............it happens.
Still got power Sam?
National news tonight said there were over 1 million Floridians without power. AEP Power here sent over 700 employees and TX sent over 70 Game Wardens with their boats to help in Rescues

we finally got power back on yesterday. Our power lines are underground, but the transformers sit on concrete pads beside the road. They flooded and shut down. When the three feet of water in the roads drained, GRU was able to get things going again.
Good news. you're off for some Wonder bread now I suppose!
laughing. No, my wife picked up more yeast packets today, so I'll bake again tomorrow. I'm thinking my Olive Oil White Bread.
