I had to look up Denny's spumonte, and found out it is gelato. Here is my favorite gelato. This is dangerous. I could eat the entire container in one sitting, and did that once. The tub is 1000 calories.

Be careful Jim. It's addictive!

Bought a high end gelato maker a couple of years ago. I have a good red raspberry patch as well as lots of blackberries and blueberries, so have learned to make pretty good gelato, sherbet and sorbets. Also use a lot of lemons, limes, honey and chocolate. It has turned out to be an interesting way to capture the flavor of the fruit while keeping the fat component down, eliminating thickeners and preservatives.
Takes about a half hour to make a 1 qt batch and cleanup is a snap.
