My wife cooked roast today, she ground what we did not eat at noon for a hash for a potluck tomorrow night. [Linked Image]
Left-over roast around here can find itself in one of three guises: 1) slices for sandwiches with onion and ketchup, 2) hash in some form or other (I like to include carrot in hash) 3) beef salad for sandwiches.
John, my wife is packin' the hash off to some hen party or another. If they don't clean it up, I might get a sample.
Have Never eaten beef salad, sounds good. Made like chicken salad?
If there's butter and Tabasco involved, the sliced beef sammie works.
Hash is never a bad thing.

I'll add, slices dipped in western dressing.
A good bedtime snack.
Thousand Island works too.

Beef salad - pretty much like chicken salad - beef, onion, celery, salad dressing or mayo depending upon one's level of sophistication, salt and pepper.
Now, when you say salad dressing, were you talking.....

Lean in, I'm gonna whisper in your ear.......

Miracle Whip?😁

Yes. (Please see first signature line.) blush
The mention of whispering in my ear reminds me of the old joke about the little boy whose mother was into cute names for things not mentioned in public. She had taught the little fellow to say that he had to whisper when he had to pee. Naturally, the day came when Dad (oblivious of such things) was tasked with watching the boy for the day. Of course, Dad fell asleep on the couch, only to be partially awakened by his son tugging at his sleeve and saying that he needed to whisper. Dear Old Dad just closed his eyes and said, "Well, you just whisper in my ear."
Ground roast beef in a food processor.

Mayo, mustard, chopped dill pickle with juice, salt pepper and shredded carrot.

Butter the bread and spread it on.
That was our next to last roast in the freezer. We did not butcher a beef last fall.

Make no excuses. Eat it the way you like. FUUCCKK the food snobs they aren't paying your grocery bill.
Thats how a pot roast turns out, usually.

Various types of roast are tough until you get them to that stage anyway.

Shameful!
We usually make beef stew out of leftover roast.

Never had beef salad, but I absolutely love ham salad.

People eat pot roast rare?
Never had or seen a rare, or even medium, cooked pot roast. Usually braised to hell and back. Lol.

I got some swiss steaks I'm going to pull out this week to make smothered steak. Do it like smothered pork chops, just swap in the beef.
I can cook a beef roast rare, I rarely do.
Rare pot roast would be a tough bloody chuck roast.

Kinda like rare brisket or Boston butt. It ain't done for a reason.

Now a better quality piece of meat. That's different.

My whole famdamly would cook that grey too. Whole other story.
The point of braising is to get the meat beyond well done.
Yep, roasts and steaks do not cook the same.

Did you brown it?

Where's all the gravy?
Here is the hash. She will put some cheese on it then warm it in the oven at church.

We have some also for dinner tomorrow. [Linked Image]
I would eat the heck out of that!
